The Baang Group in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Mowelfund Film Institute, and the University of the Philippines Film Institute, with the support of the Tioseco family are opening the first year of the Alexis Tioseco Internship Program.
Guided by the ideals of the late film critic Alexis Tioseco, the program aims to (1) develop a new breed of cultural workers for cinema and (2) contribute to the development of Philippine Cinema through specific cultural projects. Designed to provide participants the necessary knowledge and skills to engage in the different facets of cultural work and arts management for cinema, the program aims to develop its participants’ critical understanding of Philippine Cinema, film programming, film criticism, film archiving and preservation, film cultural body administration and cinematic project management.
Running for six (6) weeks, it is composed of lectures, workshops, socials, and on-the-job trainings. Participants attend classes, conduct researches, go to film community events and work in film cultural bodies such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Mowelfund Film Institute and the University of the Philippines Film Institute. Throughout the program, participants will also work on projects of their own from conceptualization to execution all the while being supervised by professional cultural workers. The projects are aimed to contribute to the development of the film community and Philippine Cinema as a whole.
Application period ends on April 12, 2010 and the announcement of accepted applicants will be made on April 14, 2010. For more information, please contact Gina Tumlos at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit http://tinyurl.com/yzfdlu5.
