Spell Saab

Today is apparently National Allergy Day so I want to talk about something that’s been saving me from sneezing my head off for the past month. I’ve known about Claritin for years now because my more allergy-prone siblings always get nagged by mom to “take Claritin!” LOL.

I was at the launch of Claritin Reditabs, proudly whispering to my friend that I wasn’t allergic to anything. He told me, “buti you’re not allergic to your dog!” and I said YES! She even sleeps beside Jim and me every night. That’s when I realized I’d wake up having to blow my nose every morning. Sometimes I even sneeze 4 times in a row before sleeping. I’m guessing it’s all of Joey’s hair on the bed. It turns out I have allergic rhinitis. So much for not being allergic to anything.

"It's not my fault I'm furry.."

“It’s not my fault I’m furry..”

Then there are days I’d get these weird itchy bumps on my fingers, sometimes filled with fluid (EW, I KNOW!!) which are apparently caused by stress and allergens (dust mites, pet dander, etc). I’ve been tolerating these symptoms, just learning to kind of live with it. I didn’t know how much these allergies were dragging me down. Can you imagine waking up with a stuffy nose every morning? Nakaka-walang gana to get out of bed!

I’m really happy I learned about the new Claritin Reditabs because it’s so perfect for my lifestyle.

Loratadine (Claritin Reditabs) is the same powerful Claritin millions have trusted in a new and revolutionary format. Just peel off the foil and pop it in your mouth. This new and convenient format can be taken anytime, anywhere. No water needed! This non-drowse variant orally dissolves in seconds and leaves you with a fresh minty taste. And the effects last for 24 hours.

Seriously, I have a whole banig in my bag so it’s always with me when I’m on-the-go. I could be stuck in traffic getting stressed, growing blisters on my fingers (ew), or at a gig getting exposed to a lot of dust and smoke — I know I’m #AlwaysRedi with Claritin Reditabs.

I am also in denial about allergies, that is not me, I seldom get flu, allergy pa kaya. Hehe. I don’t know if its karma but now I have a seasonal allergy that’s really irritating. It’s called dyshidrosis, is a skin condition that is characterized by small blisters on the hands or feet. It is an acute, chronic, or recurrent dermatosis of the fingers, palms, and soles, characterized by a sudden onset of many deep-seated pruritic, clear vesicles; later, scaling, fissures and lichenification occur. Recurrence is common and for many can be chronic. Allergic reactions of various kinds, including allergies to nickel which is present in many foods and vitamins (e.g., oatmeal, canned foods).

Imagine my surprise when I found out that chocolate (my weakness) is very high in nickel . Never gone for more that 3 days without eating one but now, I haven’t eaten chocolates for months. Hehehe, but when I get tempted I just take anithistamines to lessen the itch and the allergy.

To us with allergies, cheers! This month is for us. :D

Same with you I also have a dog. His name is “Cotton” (he’s white). When he was still a pup the seller said he was Pomeranian but when he grew older we think he is a Japanese Spitz. We love him regardless. Since day my grandpa brought little Cotton home he never left our bed. We don’t even allow him to walk on the floor of our room. Needless to say, imagine all the white fur in our room. I have them in my things, in my clothes and in my shoes. We sleep with Cotton every night for as long as the beginning. I use to say I don’t have allergies too. But I began sneezing and coughing in the long run. That’s when I discovered Claritin! My Mom bought some to get rid of the allergies. Since then we’ve always kept stocks so we can play with little Cotton all day everyday! Thanks to Claritin we are #AlwaysRedi! :)

Hi Ate Saab! I usually deal with my allergic rhinitis by puffing nasal spray in both of my nostrils (too much hassle), so if I have these Claritin Reditabs in hand everytime, I can easily get away with all my sneezing and runny (and red) nose during a class or any important event where I can’t possibly go to the comfort room and do my puffing thing. Yayyy for #AlwaysRedi! Plus you said it orally dissolves in seconds so I don’t need to have a bottle of water in my bag. Hahaha! I also have asthma so I’m prone to allergies all of the time. This blog post helped! *goes to the drug store*

Hi Saab! Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been allergic to dust and smoke. Aside from sneezing, I’d always have skin rashes which were extremely uncomfortable. There was a point that I always had to wear long-sleeves even if it’s too humid. Just like you, I’d still sometimes have those tiny itchy bumps probably due to stress too now that I have to juggle my time between work and managing my household (I’m a work-at-home mom). Antihistamine has been one of my staples but most of the time it makes me drowsy. I’d love to try this new Claritin Reditabs. :)

    Hello Saab! :)

When I read your post, I was like, “Awww. I feel you.” Way back then, when my lola was still alive, she would lovingly clean my room even though I’m still sleeping because according to her, it’s her highest form of loving. Para daw masurprise ako na pag gising na daw yung apo niyang masipag, malinis na ang kwarto. Hehehe. I loved it but just like you, I’ll always wake up blowing my nose really hard, as in. Panget pa man din yung “hatching!” ko, hindi pang chic! Hahaha! Feeling ko nga rinig ng kapitbahay namin eh. So before getting to know Claritin, I’d rub ice cubes on my nose (I know, it’s weird but it works for me). Until my doctor prescribed that, nawala na siya. Nababahing parin ako at times pero hindi na ganun sa dati na akala mo macho yung nage-sneeze! Hehehe. One more allergy, this one’s life-threatening. I’m allergic to chicken meat (meat lang kasi I can eat isaw without having any skin rashes) and when I eat it, I’ll have difficulty in breathing and my eyes will swell. Imagine mo yung talukap ng mata at eyebags, magiging parang EOS egg balms, ganun. Kaloka noh? Pero I’m not kidding. Ganun ka-eksahirada ang allergy ko sa manok. I still don’t eat chicken meat pero pag aksidenteng nakakain ako ng manok, na hindi ko alam na manok, yung parang sa mga gatherings na sosyal at hindi ko kilala yung foods pero kinain ko just because IT LOOKS SO YUMMY, drum rolls will be playing at the back of my mind and I’ll imagine “drrrrr drrr drrr drrrrrrrr! Claritin!” with matching twinkling eyes. ^_^

    <3,

Like you, I have allergic rhinitis. Its just so weird every morning that I have phlegm. Its just so annoying, and I can’t enjoy my morning cause of sneezing. My Dr recommended me to use claritin for years, and that claritin is the drowse one. Hahahaha. Am a student now, so not everytime I have my water in my bag, It will be a good help if I won the giveaway and give it a try para naman hindi dyahe sa klase pag achoo ko, nakakhiya yung paulit ulit na excuse me. I do have a mild to moderate allergic rhinitis that causes stuffy & running nose, headache, puffy eyes and fatigue. When allergy season comes I double my dose of Vit C, fluid intake and fruits/veggies. Since I have a full time day job, Claritin Reditabs can help me not to take a sick leave when allergy strikes. I can just pop it at work and worry no more. I can be productive and efficient as always because of Claritin #AlwaysRedi!

Hi Saab, your bounce rate is high like 68.30% according to alexa.com. Your photos might me loading a bit slow so some of the viewers quit the page before it has fully loaded. Anyway, I’m a fan since 4 years ago and I’m happy to know that your blog is ranked at 1,802 here in the Philippines. Keep writing!

Hi Saab. I always knew I have allergies to almost anything. I would wake up in the morning with stuffed nose, continue the whole day with stuffed nose and sleep with stuffed nose. I also sneeze non-stop and get puffy eyed everytime I play with my 2 dogs (I have 2 Japanese Spitz so imagine the amount of dog hair I get.) Thats when I decided to see a doctor. Its confirmed, I have Allergic Rhinitis. One of the meds given to me is Claritin. The problem is, whenever I have allergy attacks, I need to wait until I get home or until I get to a store to buy bottled water before I am able to drink my meds. Thank God for Claritin Reditabs! All I have to do is peel and pop the tablet in my mouth and **poof** goes my allergy! Now, I am #AlwaysRedi.

Coughs and colds aren’t new to me anymore. Just like periods, I have it ALMOST every time of the month! The real score? Allergies(!!!!) (and well I might have had a bit of a skin asthma history) + Dust and smoke are my usual enemies. I am not even allowed to stay near furry things and friends for a very long time. Imagine the pain of wanting to own a certain breed of dog but cannot?? I am also in constant conflict with my perfumes, we never really get along. I would sometimes try to spray it even before I wear the clothing but it still reacts on my skin. (I’d get the “chicken skin” on certain parts of my body. Yikes!) Good thing there’s CLARITIN! I swear it works faster than the speed of light. I’d never have to worry about my skin getting worse because it alleviates and takes the scratchy feeling+ the sneezing + the puffy eyes away easily. I wouldn’t have it any other way. At least now I can say that with Claritin, I am #AlwaysRedi

When I was in the Philippines I don’t have any allergy, I can eat whatever I want. But now after 3 weeks staying here in Taiwan for work I noticed that every time I eat foods like egg, fish, bagoong etc. I got an itchy skin and I can’t sleep well but only after one month I decided to ask what could be the med. to take for itchiness and they recommend me to buy Claritin (Loratadine). And now I can sleep well and sometimes I eat foods that caused my itchiness but after eating I take Claritin to avoid itchy..he he (medyo pasaway) – Thank you Claritin for making me sleep well and for letting me to eat food na “bawal”. Proven and effective.

Hi! Big yes for the allergy hassle! Specially if it attacks during a sinusitis attack. It really makes me cry. Im allergic to almost everything. Name it, from seafood to dust. I also have to avoid our dearest nestlé (siamese cat) because of her fur :( I’ve tried many anti histamines in the market and never encountered a just-pop-it-drink-it .Claritin will be a big help for me because I always travel for work go here, go there with a drowsy meds is a no no! So yea might as well give it a shot. :) – iann

Hindi sya nawawala sa bag ko. Once na kumain na ko ng manok. Lalabas na mga pantal ko sa katawan. Katulad kahapon kumain ako ng nuggets nagtake ako ng isa nawala na. :) Super thank you talaga sa claritin. Big help ka talaga #AlwaysRedi #Claritin

I get allergies often and sometimes, even for some unknown reasons as if my allergies just remembered that they should do their job. Haha.
It sucks when you want to look good but you have to be very cautious in what you put on your face and what you wear because they all would either make or break your day. For instance, I love perfumes, and I usually get them for free – even the expensive ones (thanks to balikbayan friends). The problem is, I can’t use them as often as I want to because when the allergies attack, I’d be sneezing for like forever then get red marks all over my face and this super itchy watery eyes that consequently becomes red and swelled and I’d look like I have acquired an epidemic disease! Imagine that happening when you are at the office or in a gathering with bunch of people asking what happened to you or ‘are you okay?’! What’s more is having to explain to each and everyone that you’ve got this allergy and that they don’t have to worry because it goes off after a while. Grrrrrrrrr.
I get colds as soon as possible [sic]; they are always in a hurry to come to me. I can’t eat shrimps and the likes. I can’t sit anywhere near a smoking persob. Cleaning the smallest, dusty room or even just sweeping the floor would mean disaster. The temperature should never even be too hot or too cold or I’d get the epidemic-stricken-face over again. Yes, even in those instances with minute reasons (sigh).
When you get allergies as often as I do, you have to always have anti-histamines/ chlorpenamine maleates ready within your reach. At the first sign of itch or red mark on my face, I take a pill to combat a likely anti-enjoy moment.
I’m glad I came by your post Ms. Saab, it made me realize that I am not alone in the battle of allergies and that it certainly is not a rare, hopeless case. Thanks in advance for the tips/help/support I may get from this!
God bless! Cheers to an ‘allergy-free, hassle-free lifestyle’!
