Spell Saab

A few weeks ago, I sent out a tweet asking for suggestions on where to donate books I no longer want to keep and so many of you “jokingly” said your own book shelves would gladly receive my donations. Well, some jokes are half meant. Sometimes, they’re not even jokes at all. So here you go, before I do my usual 12 Books of Christmas, here are some books that you might enjoy. The books are either pre-loved, unused, or I somehow have more than one copy of it.

Some of the books are great but as I learned from reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo, books are meant to be read and then shared. So unless it’s part of my “hall of fame” or current favorites, I should learn to let it go. I don’t want to be selfish and my book shelf doesn’t want to be… Shelf-ish.? Thank you. Thank you very much.

Here are three stacks of books that you may choose from:

set1

Tell All and Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, Adland by James P. Othmer, Be More Chill by Ned Vizzini, The Internet Is A Playground by David Thorne, Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children and Hollow City by Ransom Riggs, NOS4A2 by Joe Hill, Unscripted by Sarah Meier and Vicky Herrera

set2

Room by Emma Donoghue, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Perilous Journey + The Prisoner’s Dilemma by Trenton Lee Stewart, Zombies VS Unicorns by various authors, Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, The Pocket Wife by Susan Crawford, Unscripted by Sarah Meier & Vicky Herrera

set3

Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen, This is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz (NOTE: I’m so sorry but apparently I just gave this to my friend who wanted it so this won’t be part of the bunch), CLASS by Cecily Von Ziegesar, Paper Towns by John Green, Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella, Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple, The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling, Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan, Makeup Manual by Bobbi Brown

Simply leave a comment below with which stack you’d like to take home and why. Don’t forget to leave your e-mail addresses. I’ll choose 3 winners by 5pm tomorrow night. You will have to pick up the books yourselves so hopefully you’re from Metro Manila or you have a friend who will be willing to claim it for you.

Also, I turned 27 last Monday! YAY. Thank you for all your well wishes!! My blog’s 12th birthday is also coming up this December, actually. I’m having a small get together with whoever wants to meet up and chat over lunch on December 12, so please save the date if you’d like to join! More details to follow!:)

EDIT: Already e-mailed the winners! Kris Martin (stack #1), Thet Saludo (stack #2) & Lovella Daroy (stack #3), kindly check your inboxes for information on how to pick up your prizes. Thanks for joining, everybody!!

♥,
Saab

Hi Saab! I’d like to take home stack #1, please! I’d like to to give to my friend who loves reading books. She’d definitely love this!

    P.S.
I think that this is a good idea since I also do the same with some of my books :)

    And belated Happy Birthday! xx

I’d wish to have the 1st stack. It has been quite a long time since I have read interesting books. And I was not able to read again since I became so busy and books are not in my “budget list” anymore. So I hope to get the 1st stack or even just one book is okay as long as it is from you. Belated Happy Birthday Saab! ^_^

“If you want something, go for it.”
I want the 3rd stack. I am a proud bookword actually hahaha. John Green and J.K Rowling are my idols. Books are my babies. When I’m reading a book, it’s like I’m traveling to another world. Books are life ? Hoping that I will be one of the lucky and blessed winners, Ate Saab. I love you so so much ❤ Belated Happy Birthday! You are a blessing to everyone ?

Hi Saabae! I got really thrilled when I saw that you were donating some of your books. I have been a fan of yours ever since. Omg huhu so anyways, the stack that caught my eye is stack number 2! I’ve always wanted to read the Red Queen since you’ve blogged about it before. I wanted to buy it from Fully Booked but it was expensive :( Stack number 2 also includes books that I would also wanted to read! Life of Pi and the pocket wife. ? I have been a bookworm ever since and having your books would really mean a lot to me… and my bookshelf. I love you, Saab! You inspire me so much!

Stack 1. Been eyeing those Ransom Riggs on bookstores nowadays. And my friend told me that Chuck Palahniuk books are great reads. <3

    Advance Happy Birthday Sab! :D

The third one! Why I should be chosen? Because I’m slowly drifting away from my love for books but I’ve recently found the time again. I’m studying journalism and my future of course will be that. Books will help me with my vocabulary, other writing styles, or just simply a whole lot of different experiences that I might experience only by reading a novel. :)

First of all, belated happy birthday ate Saab! (I greeted you na on twitter pero I’ll greet you na lang ulit HAHA).

As someone who likes to read books (lalo if I’m hella depressed or stressed out about life), it is a really tough thing to choose what stack of books I’d like to get (if you pick me [and please do]!). But after weighing all the reasons, I’d like to get the first stack!!! Basically, the first stack has books of pure awesomeness. Ok, actually to be honest, I’ve read na like half of the books in the second and third stack hehe. And I got kind of intrigued kasi with the Unscripted book. I searched what that is and I think it’s great to read the conversations included in the book!

Hope that you’ll pick me!!!! :D

My sister’s been telling me to stop trying my luck but hey its always worth a try. As to why I chose this stack is mainly because I’ve been wanting to read Chuck Palahniuk’s works but I ain’t having much of a chance. Also, I’ve been introduced to Joe Hill’s NOS4A2, it’s quite intriguing i must say. >:)

Hi Saab! I’ll try my luck here and so I’d like to take home stack number 3. :) It’s hard to choose by the way (those books are all nice to take home haha!). Okay, since I’ve been wanting to finish my Goodreads Challenge 2015 which is taking me forever, those books placed on my shelves will be a big motivation for me to finish the challenge. I’ve been religiously taking the challenge since 2013 and I hope I can do it also this year! :) So, could you help me achieve my goal this year? Hahaha! If you happen to choose me, I’ll be happy to share those books too!!! Yay! Fanks! :D

    November 26, 2015

I love book stack #2 so much! I’ve been so curious about Trenton Lee Stewart’s Mysterious Benedict Society series but for some reason I can’t find copies of those in the bookstores around my area. Also, The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard has been a book on the top of my to-buy list since it came out. I’d gladly take care of it and the other books in the stack for you <3 My dad just constructed a book shelf for me and my babies would love more company :)

  12. Sonson Mercado

    November 26, 2015

Tell All and Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, Adland by James P. Othmer, Be More Chill by Ned Vizzini, The Internet Is A Playground by David Thorne, Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children and Hollow City by Ransom Riggs, NOS4A2 by Joe Hill, Unscripted by Sarah Meier and Vicky Herrera

I choose this stack of books because I’m a fan of Joe Hill and Palahniuk. I can quote Fight Club like it’s my bible and I also wanna read more Vizzini!
Thank you Ms. Saab and belated happy birthday to you!

  13. Harmony Valdoz

    November 26, 2015

I’d like to have the first stack simply because it has two Palahniuk books. Palahniuk is one of those authors I tell myself I’d check out but never really get to.

Stack 3! :) Ive read parts of Where’d You Go Bernadette on a certain bookstore but never had the chance to finish it and I really hope na magkaroon na kami ng closure… lol but seriously though I’d like read all the books in stack 3. The make up manual’s a big bonus for me, I’m an amateur but eager to learn! :) Belated happy birthday! Long live, Spell Saab!!! :)

    November 26, 2015

Waahhh! You’ve just sent me to Book Heaven with this Take Me Home opportunity. :)

Hmmm, but asking me to choose among the three stacks is tough. But I guess I’ll have to pick Stack No. 3.

People say that I lack emotion, am insensitive at times, and need to get in touch with the little girl that hides behind that shadow in my heart. Hopefully, reading the books in the 3rd stack prompt some personality changes or adjustments for the good of all (including my own good).

I really wish you’d choose me to adopt those goodies. And after I’m done going over them, I promise to give each and every one of them out to friends, acquaintances, and even strangers in the hopes that they might also bring joy, inspiration, or a wake up call to them wherever they are.

Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! And HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY to the blog!!!

    Hi Saab!

Would like to have book stack 3 just because I have some of the books on the other stacks and read them already. :)

Also, I have some books stacks of my own that I could give away. Would love to give them away on your blog meet up if I would be able to come. :)

Happy happy happy birthday Saab!! I adore you since Lipgloss until forever, yiiieeee ♥ Haha! Anw, I would love to take home the 3rd stacks of book because these are the genres I never tried reading before, well except for Paper Towns, hihi! I found the beauty of romantic fiction genre, like ALWAYS and I want to try other books too. Like the one which I can’t predict what will happen next, haha! I want to move to another dimension of imagination, lol! I don’t do make-ups too so maybe Bobbi Brown’s book is my sign to try coloriing my face haha! Aaaaand I would love to meet you too, although I know you hang out at Fullybooked The Fort branch sometimes but I never get the chance to see you although I’m just working at Highstreet too! ♥ More powers and happy birthday again princess ♥ :)

    November 26, 2015

Hi Saab! I’m letting go of some of my books, too because I’m running out of storage. I sold it (at a very low price) to officemates and friends and thinking of sharing the others to the public library in our community. I know how hard it is to let go some of the books but they just have to. But of course, a true book lover will never say no to new stacks especially that the holidays are coming. Yay!

I’ll be very happy to have stack no. 1 because I haven’t read any of those. I haven’t read anything from foreign authors lately since I’ve been spending much time at the Filipiniana section (I hope you could feature some local novels, too :D) I also bought a lot of graphic novels and comics from Komikon but I think they won’t last til December since I’m almost done reading them.

Happy birthday to you and Maxene! :D

    November 26, 2015

Definitely the third stack. I’ve been whining to my parents for a built-in bookshelf inside my room since gradeschool pa. They never built me one until earlier this month. And I am 21 already. I think it’s really an effective way to bribe me out of this idea of moving out. Lol. They got me this huge ass shelf and the day I placed my books made it look like I don’t like reading at all. Lol. The shelf put my little collection in shame. I think I’m the perfect caretaker of these books because I believe I can never have enough amount of books to read, plus I definitely have a cozy room for them! Thanks, Saab! Belated happy birthday!

I love stack #3 :) Sophie Kinsella books were one of the reasons I survived my first year working abroad and she will always have a special place in my heart, and book shelf :)

I have never won anything from blog/social media contests/raffles so here’s hoping you will pop my raffle-winning cherry :D Thank you and wishing you the best! :)

I would love to have the 3rd stack of books!
I am a reader and I run a mini book photo blog (ps. I’ve always wanted to try blogging because of you *kilig face*). And out of all the three stacks, the 3rd stack has my most to-read books.
I really adore Sophie Kinsella’s quirky books so I would love to read and have Wedding Night.
I found Casual Vacancy (HB) in a warehouse sale for only P100!!! But the cashier line is so long that after an hour and half I had to leave because I had my finals. I went to school empty-handed and devastated. This is my second chance (yay)
I borrowed my friend’s Paper Towns copy and I loved it that I would want to have my own copy and reread it.
Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore and Where’d You Go, Bernadette are both in my tbr!
And there I see the author of Gossip Girl. I’d love to try that one.

I have 6/8 books in the 3rd stack and maybe Makeup Manual could be useful too. I’ve seen the Water for Elephants movie and maybe I could try the book.

  25. Princess Marie Aquino

    November 26, 2015

I would love stack #2!! Even if I already have and read The Red Queen, it’s one of those books you can read over and over again. I can just give my copy to share it to other friends. Moreover, the rest of the stack I haven’t read and are in my to-read list! School has been eating me up this year, so taking a break lounging in these books during December break might give me back my sanity.

    Belated happy birthday, Saab! :)

Saab, belated happy birthday! I greeted you on twitter already but greetings are always nice hehe.

I’ve been a fan for a long time. I actually saw you in person once. We were both backstage at the UP fair but I was too shy to say hi. I wish I could go to your get together, but I’m based in Davao. :( anytime you’re here I could show you around if you want to though. :D

Oh and I want the first stack, please! Bc ako yung binigyan ng good morning towel before for Christmas. Lels.

    Cheers! Happy holidays!

    November 26, 2015

First of all, Happiest Birthday to you!

Okay, back to business. Lelz. I’d love to win stack #2! Mainly because I haven’t read most of the books on that stack and because of Trenton Lee, Sarah Meier, and Susan Crawford. Thank you in advance, Saab!

Hi ate Saab!! I’ve been your fan since when Biebs arrived here in Mnl back in 2011 or 2012 (I guess?) there was this short video of yours about the presscon and I am a belieber back then hehehe. I stalk you everywhere. I was captured by your amazing personality no wonder kuya Jim loves you so much. Plus you love books. I adore you BIGTIME! and sometimes, I want to be you. (hope you’ll see this short msg I’ve been wanting to tweet you hehe)

Anyways, I’ll take this shot, I’ve been wanting the stack #3. Im intrigued about Miss Sophie Kinsella’s books. My former classmate read her books. It was kind of a girly thing. and oh, the PAPER TOWNS. I have this condition that whenever there’s upcoming movie and it was a book at first, I should’ve read it first before watching it. Because I want to know the whole story, not the summary. Make up manual…. hmmm twas interesting. Im just 16 and Im curious about make ups like “how’d you do that?” “thats a piece of art” This will help me. And the others, my eyes would loooooooove those pages.

God bless to Moe! (I love Julielmo still) and belated Happy birthday Ate Saab!!! May God bless you and your whole fam! <3 :)

2!!! Because it looks like a stack of amazing and adventurous books and I haven’t read any of it yet! I’ve been very busy with college I don’t even have the time to go places so I want to experience travelling kahit sa books lang. plus i’m so broke cos all my money was spent for my school books and pdf books are bad for le eyes.! I am willing to share it to my friends once I finish reading it cos what’s knowledge when you don’t share it, diba? <3

    I would love Stack #2!

I love reading YA and i haven’t had the chance to read the Red Queen. I saw how some other YA authors have been promoting this book so I guess it’s a good one. Also, I would love to have a copy of Unscripted. I was an avid listener of Sarah and Vicky’s radio show The Dollhouse during college days until the radio station was sold to a news company. It’s sad but I guess by having the book it would be nice to reminisce their conversations which was centered mostly on sharing positivity. Shabba!

    Thanks Saab!

Hi Saab! Belated Happy Birthday! It’s really cool knowing that you and Max have the same birthdays! You two are like soulmates (soul sisters) HEHEHE <3

Anyway, I love how you're toying with our minds on choosing from these stacks of books! Noticed that they're randomly grouped, which basically levels up the mind-fuck! HAHA. Among these, I choose stack #1! I've ever been so curious with Palahniuk's novels but I never got the chance to come across his works! Also, only read Ransom Rigg's novels via ebook (which really was a bummer!) and I would be happy to finally have my own copy!

Thank youuu and looking forward to you bloggersary! :) <3

I would like to have stack #1 because I am a twenty year old girl who suddenly realized that I have not had a boyfriend since birth, and those mystery/thriller books might just be more exciting to uncover than the mystery of my “mid-life” crisis. (Lol).

  44. Anna Talens

    November 26, 2015

Stack 1 please cos Palahniuk + Ad Land (I work in advertising!) + Be More Chill (I actually have this already… But how come your paperback cover has burgers!?!)

This’ll be perfect for me since I’m getting an operation tomorrow and I’ll be on house arrest for a whole week — these books will surely keep boredom at bay! ;)

Stack #3 because I’m a woman in my 30s and don’t know how to do my own makeup. And that Manual Makeup would be a lot of help. Also, there’s Casual Vacancy and Paper Towns. :)

But actually, I love all the stacks. So hope I win any of them. :)

Hello Saab, enjoy being 27! You have an awesome life! Cheers!(:
I would love to have Stack #3. As a young mom to 2 very active boys, I miss the excitement of just sitting and reading an interesting book like Water for Elephants and Paper Towns. I miss being lost inside the pages of books and entering a new world. And I know that Bobbi Brown’s Makeup Manual will help me a LOT in changing my look.(: Thank you!

    November 26, 2015

I would love to get the second stack because I’m not very familiar with those books (except Life of Pi; I own and have read a few books from stacks 1 and 3) and I find that reading books not knowing what they are about and without expectations give the best reading experience! I would love to pick at Bobbi Brown’s brain but yeah I’m picking the second stack lol.

Also, I’m planning to give some of the books to my sister as an (so) early graduation gift (she’s been studying so hard, I know she deserves a reward ;)) Btw, belated happy birthday, Saab! Hi Saab, happy birthday! :)
Please let me win stack 2. Books are the only ones keeping me sane. Work is stressful and I don’t have any hobby but reading. Reading helps me forget reality for a bit. It’s my safe heaven. I would love to read all those books but I can just choose one stack, right? Haha. I hope to get any of the stacks especially stack 2. Thanks and love you! Xoxo

Hi! Me and my shelf would love to have Stack 1. Most of the books in 2 and 3 are already present in my shelf. And I’d love to read books by authors I’m not quite familiar about, to widen my horizons. They’re outside my comfort zone and it’d be super cool if you introduce them to me. :D
    Thanks Saab!

I am honestly torn between the first and third stack but seeing as I have read a few of the books from the first, I guess I will go with the 3RD STACK. (YAY! Sabi nga nila, 3rd time’s a charm! Chos!) The 3rd one contains books which are a bit far from the genres I usually read and I’m so up for the challenge! I have always wanted to explore new things and be inspired by new themes and I guess this is a good avenue for me to do so. Also, since I have always wanted to either form or be a part at least of a book club I think books from the third stack will help create a lively and entertaining discussion. I can just imagine how amazing that would be!

P.S BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAABAE <3

P.P.S I CANNOT CONTAIN THE FEELS!! I TRIED KEEPING IT COOL ABOVE THOUGH LELZ I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE SHARING A PART OF YOUR COLLECTION WITH US (!!!) I JUST HOPE I GET TO TAKE HOME THE 3RD STACK HUHU *cue Carly Rae Jepsen's I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY LIKE YOU*

Hello, saab! I’d like the 1st stack! This would be a perfect christmas gift. i think this set is more into mystery/thriller/suspense and humor and im into these genres right now. And chuck palahniuk! I’ve been wanting to read and own one! And my friends are avid readers as well and i’d like to share these with them (if ever i got to win this *crossing fingers*).

I’d really love to take home Stack #3 for the following simple reasons:

    1. I just got married so i’m curious of Sophie Kinsella’s “Wedding Night”;
    2. Having said that i recently got married, and the fact that i’m not used to wearing make-up, maybe it’s about time that I read Bobbi Brown’s Make-up Manual and learn even just the basics of putting on make-up, and make myself more attractive for my dear husband; and
    3. Paper Town’s the only book by John Green that I haven’t read yet.

    :-)

Hello Saab! It’s a very rare thing for me to join giveaways like this but when I do, I do it for books. If I get to be chosen as the lucky /to-be/ owners of your books, I’d like to have stack # 2 because it has basically everything I want to read especially the ‘Red Queen’. I’m a nurse and reading books are one of my hobies when I’m not saving lives. Please be my Santa and pick me as the care taker of your books! ? Thanks for not beeing shelf-ish!

    Hi, Saab!
I’d super love to take home stack number 3, please!!! All because these are the books that were always on my must-read list but I never got the chance to read ’em yet. And also, they are my favorite genre. Coming from a hopeless romantic like me. Saka I would feel super lucky to own books coming from Saab the Great <3 Cheesy na baaaa huhu sorry :( Hehe. Anyway, I would really love to join your mini get-together on December! I was one of those na nagho-hope talaga na magkaroon ka ng fan party!

The 3rd stack actually caught my attention, probably because of the diverse authors, you’ve got Cecily von Ziegesar, John Green, J.K. Rowling, and Sophie Kinsella. That specific stack just speaks about how fluid you are as a reader, not really caring if the author’s forte might be fiction, fantasy, etc. It’s all about the emotions you have by reading those books, the feelings that you achieved by hanging on from line to line. I’m sure you have felt that when you’ve read those books, and I’m hoping to feel the same things when I am going to read those. Happy 27th! :)

  69. Janina Lenciano

    November 26, 2015

the 1st stack because i loooove books more than people. lol. even tho im working as a sped teacher, i dont have enough money to buy books that i really want. :( i just want to smell physical books so much, im tired of reading ebooks with my cracked phone.

#3 – Stack 3 has many books that I would love to read – and share/pass on to the scholars of the foundation that I am currently working for.

I met you at the Sam Smith concert! I was (surprisingly) starstruck (I don’t usually get starstruck =P) when I saw you but I’m glad I asked you if I could take a picture with you! I’ve been hooked on spellsaab for years now. =)

    belated happy birthday!

    STACK NO. 1 ?

I’m actually torn between 1 & 3 but I chose 1 because to this very day I still haven’t found a copy of Fight Club around here in the Philippines so I’m really hoping I get it. ._. I have no particular reason for you to pick me other than the fact that I love books like all the other people who have decided to enter this giveaway. And if those books are looking for a home, they’re welcome on my shelf :D

While we’re at it, belated Happy birthday ???

Hi, Saab! Advanced happy birthdaaay ? I’d love to have stack # 3 pretty please ? first because of Mr Penumbra’s!!!!! I SWEAR I COULDN’T FIND A COPY ANYWHERE ANYMORE. It’s still in my list and here’s my chance!!! 2nd, I heard Class is one of the rare “adult” books CvZ has ever written, and as a GG fan, I’d love to hear her voice from a different perspective, but I’m sure she still has that class and edge throughout the narrative. I read from a review that WYGB is an epistolary novel, and I really miss reading those. I had The Casual Vacancy as an e-book AND I NEVER GOT TO READ IT BECAUSE MY TAB GOT REFORMATTED ??? plus, this is a perfect opportunity to have the best way to read it: actually in my hands, and with the chance to dog-ear that baby ? AND THAT BOBBI BROWN MAKE-UP BOOK. PLS, MINE. MY FACE NEEDS IT. I love make-up so much, that my first and true love, books, would really complement it. ? For the rest of the books in the stack, YA books are really my thing so I promise they won’t go unread or abandoned ??? THANK YOU SO MUCH SAAAAAB ???

P.S. I’m the Bea who kept asking you about Ateneo and Creative Writing. I’m glad to say I’m about to end my first fruitful sem here, and I didn’t make a mistake choosing my passion. I’m leaning towards non-ficton, too!!! :) thank you thank you thank you ??

Hi Saab! I’ve been stuck on reading young adult books for like forever!! Stack#1 book genres seem like a fresh start for me. It would broaden my horizon and give me new perspectives on things. I’ve searched that Riggs and Vizzini’s books are really interesting and intriguing.

Belated Happy birthday!! <3 I remembered calling on your show month ago! Excited about the readers meet up. ?

STACK 3! Omg and can I take you home? Jk ? i’m an avid “silent” fan (hell, i even cried when you got engaged and married like i’m your super proud and happy friend) and I don’t really try my luck in giveaways like this. But since I really love books and the Magalonas (toldya i’m a fan), trying my super luck here! I haven’t read any of the books from Stack 3 so that’s why I chose it. Actually, any will do ? I usually buy ebooks because they’re much cheaper but you are giving away hard copies!!! So yeyyyy pick me, choose me, love me! Haha

Happy birthday to you and Maxene! And yey for the lasik!

    November 26, 2015

    2nd stack, please?

I’m currently on school break and while most of my friends are busy on their outdoor trips, I really prefer staying indoors reading books and drinking coffee. Hehe. Those books would be the perfect sembreak reading list for me!

Some try to ignore books and other reading materials during break pero I think if reading is something you enjoy, it will never feel like a burden.

Anyway, belated happy birthday po. You have such a good heart. :)

    November 26, 2015

Hii Saaaaaab!!!! I’d love to have the books from the 1st stack! I’ve always wanted to read those kind of interesting books especially Chuck Palahniuk’s, since i’m usually more of young adult, teen flick kind-of book person. And alsoooo, my friends love to read too so if I win i’d gladly share that stack with them!!! Hope you pick me! Yay

  78. Karl

    November 26, 2015

    1st stack because;

I’d like to learn how to “be more chill” for the “internet is a playground” in this “hollow city” searching for
the “Adland”, getting into the “fight club” being “unscripted” and “tell all” about “NOS4A2”

(hi trying to be creative hehe)

  79. Liezel

    November 26, 2015

    Stack 2, please :)

All because it contains the books you featured (Room, zombies, red queen) in your blog that definitely got me intrigued but never had time to pick a copy from the bookstore (though really, it’s only me being a cheapskate shopping on booksales most of the time. haha). This would be the perfect opportunity for me to finally read those! :)

    PS: Belated Happy Birthday Saab!

Hello, Saab! Belated happy birthday! I’d love to receive Stack #1! I’ve been meaning to read Fight Club because I loved the film. I also want to get my hands on Hollow City since I really enjoyed Ms. Peregrine’s (which I borrowed from my sister and I’d love to have my own copy of it too). I’ll be getting married early next year and my would-be husband and I are dreaming of having this amazing library which I’m sure these books of yours would love to call their new home. :) Thank you very much and congratulations on your blog’s 12th year! :D

Hi! I would love to take home stack 3 because Sophie Kinsella, John Green and J.K Rowling! I am a big fan of Sophie. I have almost all of her books but I guess I haven’t gotten myself a copy of wedding night. I love her stories. I am such a book worm and I wish I could do stuff like this like sharing my books to others. Also, I would really love to have a copy of Papertowns. I’d also recommend to you Pretty girl thirteen by Liz Coley! Hihi. I hope I get to take home your books. <3

Hi Saab! Belated happy birthday and advance happy anniversary to your blog! I’d like to take home stack # 3 please :) I promise to read everything and take good care of them. I’ll even share it with my sisters. I remember buying Bobbi Brown’s first makeup book during a sale and it changed my life. It inspired me to be confident and to let go of my insecurities. Like you, I wanted to share my books so that my friends can relate to me hahaha. So that they can experience it with me. However that book of mine got lost along the way. That’s why I’d love to have stack # 3 because that Bobbi Brown book meant the world to me. Thanks saab! You are so shelf-less :) – loisavie.inciong@gmail.com

Hi Saab!!! Belated happy birthday!!! :) I don’t usually leave comments on blogs but a. it’s your birthday and b. because BOOKS. I’ve been following you for years now. I adore you so much – I think you’re so cool in so many ways. I love your blog, the way you write -the way you narrate stories as if you’re just making kwento to a dear friend.

I’d love to have stack #3 just because I have never ever won any raffle in my whole life ang loser lang lels.

I would love to own stack #3. Apart from myself, I have younger cousins and nieces who also love to read (and put on make up ;)). What better way to share the love this Christmas season than sharing with them the passion for reading? And then once we’re done, we can all share these treasures with other people who love to read, but do not have the money to purchase books. It’s like paying it forward. We’ll just continue what you have started. :)

Hi Saab! Belated happy birthday to you and Maxene!!

I was on a jeepney on my way home from a very stressful and tiring day in school when I saw your post! I was praying to get home immediately to have better internet connection so that I could send my entry. Hehehe. While still on the jeepney, i already decided that i am gonna choose the #1 stack because the title were so very like my course. I am a Mass Communication student major in broadcasting that’s why i was so interested in the titles. But as i saw the title of the #3 stack, i was like, that’s so me. Hahahaha. Clearly, there are books that you need and the books that are just so you. That you don’t even have to need it coz its YOU. So i’m choosing the #3 stack hehehe. Hoping and praying (soo hard) to be picked. Books are the best things to raffle or give away coz its like giving another person a bit of your travel to the world that the book has created for us readers. Its like sharing your experiences. Hehehe.

Have a nice day, Saab! I’m so happy to see that you can now see clearly! Maybe someday, my eyes would too. After i’ve read all the books in stack #3 maybe? Hahhah. Keep on shining in your own way. I love you! God Bless.

Hi Saab! Belated happy birthday. :3

Thank you for this giveaway! Out of the three piles, I’d love to get book pile #2. I do not have any of those books. I also do not have eBook copies of these as well. XD

    I was supposed to buy The Red Queen during MIBF this year. I read your review and wanted to read it. During MIBF, I stared at my pile and was considering if I should buy it but there were other books and I had a budget to follow. Then, I saw this girl who was looking for the same book. She asked me where I got it. I told her I just found it on a random shelf. I took that as a sign and handed it to her, told her she can get it. She couldn’t believe it at first but I told her that I wasn’t kidding. She thanked me and we parted ways. In other words, I left MIBF without The Red Queen. ;w;

I’d love to read that book over the holidays (and on my birthday, if it takes three or more days to reed it)~ I’m also interested in reading Unicorns vs. Zombies and the other books as well~ XD

Here’s hoping that I’d win. My email address is: angeli.banal.wei@gmail.com~

Thank you and God bless~ XD

    Yellow, Saab!
    ?????

    Belated happy birthday to you!
    (NOW PLAYING: The Beatles’ “Birthday”).
Hah! I’m not trying to be sipsip here ah.
    But yeah, happy birthday! Hee-hee!!

Now what? Okay, I choose stack # 1. Because I haven’t read Fight Club just yet (though I’ve already watched that David Fincher film). Plus, I wanna know the reason why Cj de Silva thinks that Chuck Palahniuk is always mad, hehe!
Furthermore, I’m a fan of Sarah Meier and Vicky Herrera, especially when Twitter was still über-cool. I love their tweets and I love ’em as a whole. And what I’m telling you is not SCRIPTED (emphasis added).

By the way, I’m here in Dubai. So, basically, I’m away from home. That’s why I usually get an onslaught of loneliness here. Huhuhuhu! Besides, books are our good friends ready to accompany us anytime. So please I’m begging you. I want all of these.

(Side note: I always listen to Crush Hour, even though your radio show starts at 4 AM here. At least malayo man, malapit din, ika nga. #BuhayOFW)
    *cries like a baby*

    Again, I’m begging.

    Love,

    Hendrick

    P. S.

    Keep inspiring us all!

I would very much love to have stack number 3, because of The Casual Vacancy and Water for Elephants.

  98. Ira Balucan

    November 26, 2015

Hey Saab! When I read, I think of it as a way to explore realms that this universe can’t simply provide me in this lifetime. Reading gives me a way wherein I can be in a parallel universe full of impossibilities or stay grounded in a world where I know I exist but still craving to be more – to discover things still undiscovered. This is why I pick stack #1. I’m pretty much read all year round, inhaling all seven Harry Potter books for a week every summer, but I tend to gravitate in a specific genre. Stack #1 is a complete turn around from the usual books I read. Mostly it consists of plots with dark themes while I usually read feel good books. Plus, c’mon, it’s Fight Club. I personally haven’t ready it, as well as all the other books in stack #1, but I hear its bloody.

I really hope you pick me because besides wanting new books for my collection, I know it’s kinda creepy to say this but I can’t help it, you’re my life peg. It would really make my year to have something from you as an inspiration.

Also, belated happy birthday! Love, Ira

Among the 3 stacks, #1 connects most with the type of reader I am – so engrossed with Science fiction and dark fantasy, from which most of the books in this collection are from. I have seen the movie (and loved it… and Brad too) but have yet to have a copy of Fight Club; so I’m really looking forward for one pre-loved by my fave blogger.
I could never watch horror films alone and the only way I can enjoy the genre in my solidarity is thru reading. Those Ransom Riggs books would seem better read than watched (heard there’s going to be a film adaptation next year!).
I really want this stack because it connects with me and mostly, I feel like I’d be connecting with you when I’d read them. The idea that someone has pre-connected with books I’m going to be temporarily living in is like re-living that same reader’s journey thru that book, only in a different time frame. It’s like a relic from the past, although only from a very recent past (so… a slightly new relic? a very recent remnant?).
Also, you held them. That’s great by itself already.

By process of elimination, I choose book stack no. 1! Read most of the #3’s books, and #1’s much interesting (for me). I still judge a book by its cover and author. ?

So please choose me since budget’s a bit tight and I still (prefer) hoard books, I’ve been a huge fan of BookSale and other online bookstores (where you have to comment MINE as fast as you can to get a book). So for this giveaway, I’m claiming myself as a winner! Bwahahahaha! MINE!!! #wishingANDhoping

    Hi Saab!

Omg. Thank you for this! I would love to have stack #3. My love affair with books started when I was in my senior year in high school (now working for 3 years btw) and most of the books in my collection are young adult and children’s fiction (hail J.K. Rowling and Rick Riordan!) Anyway I am slowly trying to explore reading other genres like romance, mystery and drama, and I think stack #3 would be just the perfect combination of romance, mystery, drama, adventure…and a little bit of self-help makeup sesh! Haha. I love it. Would be really grateful to have those. Plus, I will definitely share some of those books to my boyfriend whom I influenced to be a bookworm back on our college days. Thank you.

first of all, belated happy birthday! i hope you’re having a ball! :–) i honestly love your blog, i’ve been reading it for years and you are #lifegoalz heheheh

anyway, i would want to have stack #1 just because i feel like i’ve been in a state wherein i feel like i don’t have any creativity anymore or i lack imagination however i think that these books will give me the opportunity to flip that situation. i really used to love reading however i think i became uninterested in general. seeing the books in stack #1 honestly made me so excited. many people keep telling me that charles palahniuk is a bloody good writer however i’ve never read one of his books. i just recently watched fight club and i think it was crazy and intense yet the final scene won me over (putting that in one of my fave movies list)… i bet the book is better. Plus i love Ned Vizzini! Need to say more? ahaha i really hope i win bc i never win at contests. malas talaga ako sa mga ganito but there’s no harm in trying diba

haha thank you! i hope you never get tired of blogging and sharing your life with us. god bless!

Hi Saab! :) I got so excited when I saw that you are having a book giveaway. I can’t remember how many times I already joined on your giveaways, but unfortunately, I haven’t won on any. :( Hoping this time I will have the chance. Hihi. :) That book stack that I would really really really reaaaaaally love to take home is stack # 2! Aaaaagh! I really wanted to read Red Queen. I’ve read good book reviews about it. And Life of Pi! I loved the movie, but I would love to read the book. I do hope that I can take this stack home. My bookshelf will surely be thrilled to have your books. :D

I really love your blogs. Been reading your articles for yearsss. And I can still remember when I saw you personally on Bang Bang Alley Premiere night @ UP Diliman! You were sitting at a corner with your friends and when I asked you if I could snap a picture with you, you happily said yes! And I was like, WAAAAAH! <3 I'm still keeping that pic. :) Love you, Saab! Happiest Birthday. God bless you always! :))

Stack no.1 without a doubt! The only chuck novel i read was Rant, and i wasnt aware that it has time and space continuum ,time travelling in it. And i sooo love that kind of themes. Plus well the movie fight club, tho i havent read the book. But the moment i saw Be More Chill by Ned Vizzini, i knew i gotta have this stack. I named Ned as the bestfriend that ive never met. I was floored after i learned about his death. His novels, esp. This is kind of a funny story, are so close to my heart. I have most of his works, including Be More Chill. But i dont have any strength to let go one of his books. So if i ever got this stack, im gonna share it to one of my friends. All of it. Its gonna be like the sisterhood of the travelling stack!

    Hi Saab!

    Belated happy birthday to you!

I really got excite when I saw your post in IG about the Take Home books ?. I really wanna cry because all of the books in Stack No. 3 consists of the books I really wantedto have plus the Make up Manual by Bobbie Brown is definitely a book to die for cos I really wanna learn how to do the make up thingy and it would really be a big help! Plus the inclusion of Papertowns by John Green and also Sophie Kensela’s wedding night is something I really can’t take my eyes off.

I have been really a bookworm eversince and been collecting books but it has recently stopped be cause I need to prioritize my Mom’s meds. She is sufferingfrom diabetes and cancer so my siblings and I should really put first things first. I am really praying that you will choose me for stack no. 3. It’s a perfect Christmas gift, my bookshelf and I would really be grateful to you!

MORE POWER SAAB! ENJOY LIFE EVEN MORE!

    STACK 2!
I’d like to give these books to my boyfriend because he loves reading but couldn’t afford to buy books. I know he’ll be the happiest when he receive this and that he will treasure these books and will take good care of them. Plus he”ll be surprised when he finds out that these books was from you. Picking stack # 3 because it has Paper Towns in it – which I already had before (it was a gift from my best friend on my 18th) then accidentally lost it. It would be nice to have it replaced through your book giveaway since I really admire everything about. :) (although of course, my best friend is irreplaceable hehe). And since my main reason for joining here is to have a copy of Paper Towns again, which again, was given by my bestfriend, I promise to share these books with her since she’s my best book buddy as well! Like what you’ve said, books are meant to be read then shared. ?

Stack 3!!! I’m reading one book per month (which started last September) and I think I’d ran out of books to read anytime soon. :( John Green, Sophie Kinsella, J.K. Rowling and Maria Semple!!!

  124. Aliah

    November 26, 2015

THIRD STACK! Most of the books included in the third stack have been in my to-buy list for monthsss. Also, I’m turning 20 this coming December 5 *panics* and I’m thinking of giving myself a makeover so I want to learn how to do make up, and the Make Up Manual in the 3rd stack can surely help me. :)

I really hope I get chosen, hahaha! You’re one of my life pegs and receiving books from you would mean sooo much to me. <3 <3 <3

Hi Saab, well to be honest I love all those stacks of books that you have. Cos I know that if you’re a true bookworm you don’t stick to just one specific book genre. You have this urge or interest to try something new for learning. But anyway hehe, I prefer stack 1 cos it simply interest me and I know that I can share these to my husband as well and that he’ll like it. I don’t have those books yet so it’ll be cool to have one for a change((:

    November 26, 2015

I want the 3rd stack because I grew up reading Cecily von Ziegesar’s Gossip Girl and J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and now I want to explore their other books. Of course, I love John Green! Who doesn’t?? But, most of all, you must pick me because we are both November babies!! Happy Birthday! :)

Hi ms. Saab! I choose stack #3, please pick me! Since I am busy working everyday, it would mean so so so much to me! Plus stack #3 is a good good combination of the books that I wanted to read ever since and yet I don’t want to because I want to read it in a real book with real turning pages! *weird* So please please, pick me! Huhu. THANK YOU SO MUCH MS. SAAB AND GOD BLESS! ☺

Belated happy birthday! And thanks for this giveaway. I never won a giveaway before but I’ll try my luck in this one. I’d love to win stack # 1. Been wanting to read Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children and Hollow City for so long! The other books in stack # 1 are also interesting. I love books so much I wanna cry because I’m too broke to buy books on my wish list. Hope you’ll pick me! This would be a great advance Christmas gift! ?

    ?????
hello ♥ *waves idiotically at laptop screen*
If I get (hopefully/luckily) picked, I’d choose stack 1. (I honestly think all stacks are amazing and couldn’t be any happier if I get 2/3) but here’s WHY I like stack 1…

    Why?
Because they’re really random and I know that doesn’t make sense bc all the stacks are random but stack #1 is different; interesting; exciting.
Plus I really like jumping from one genre to another. AND I’m curious about Chuck Palahniuk ;D

PS I kept it short and on point bc I hate boring people. Okbye ?

PPS Belated happy birthday Saab! ???

I’d like to win Stack #3 because I’ve been trying to be girly for the first time in forever! I’ve always been a fan of the authors in Stack #1 but it’s time to get myself out of my comfort zone and explore chick lits, and make up! It’s so hard to do make up and I have been eyeing Bobbi Brown’s book for quite some time.

So pls pick me pls. Hehe

  134. Christine

    November 26, 2015

1st stack! I’ve only read one Palahniuk book (rant) and I loved it, it’s a borrowed book cause I never had the cash for his books but Fight Club’s one of my favorite films! I looked up the rest of the stack and they all look interesting as well particularly The Internet is a Playground and Unscripted. I’ve also seen Ransom Riggs from random window shopping at bookstores but I never got the chance to buy one and I always thought I might be a little too much of a scaredy cat for his books but this giveaway seems to be a sign!!! Happy birthday, Saab!!!

Hello there Saab! I would love to have the third stack! I’m such a fan John Green’s words and seeing his book in the stack just made the bookworm inside me all giddy and excited to browse through his pages. Plus, I am also very eager to read the other books included in the stack. For me, it’s a perfect combination! All the books that’s been in my “to read list” is in there (and make-up manuals? every girls to-die-for:) ) Plus I would really be greatful to receive something that I really treasure from you. I am like everyone else in here: a book lover; a fan of yours; and I am also dying to win any of the available stacks shown above. I don’t have to use grand explanations diba po Ms. Saab? It’s just a matter of a heartfelt reason why you may choose me among others. All of my books were destroyed by Yolanda. I am from Brgy. San Joaquin Palo, Leyte. One of the heavily devastated areas during that unforgettable day. Even my college books were nowhere to be found. Everyone who knew me, upon seeing me after that typhoon, asked the same question – pano na yung books mo? Because they knew how much I love books. I am that kind who loves to smell the pages, who gets pleasure by merely looking at a pile of books and someone who gets great satisfaction even just by holding It. That was too serious, sorry.. hehe. By the way, STACK no. 2.. ☺

Stack 3! It’s just the perfect stack of books for the girly, hopeless-romantic, cheery yet modern, open-minded and adventurous girls like me! I would name it ‘The Independent Woman Starter Pack” or “The Wanderlust” if I I could! ? I love how you group the books in those three stacks and I would love to join your Book Club if you make it, well into a real-real Book Club! ?

Please please pick me. I give my oath to the Goddess of the Books to love and cherish your stack through the different emotions I’d likely be while reading it. ?

Thank you so much! Happy 27 years, Saab! Sending lots of love! ❤

Hello, Saab! Yey for your giveaway! I’d like to have the second stack of books, kahit 1 lang. Hello Saab!

I would love to have Stack #3 and read Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore. Just what you’ve learned, books are meant to be read and shared so the whole stack will not be mine but I’m sharing it with my brother who would love to read Paper Towns, my cousin will surely enjoy reading Wedding Night and my sister who’ll surely be glowing after reading Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual. After successfully reading the books, I’ll hand them over to my friend (a public school teacher) who is currently handling the Reading Classes in their school and starting to collect books for her mini library. Very timely ’cause its National Book Month too! Your books will surely be a great addition! Belated Happy Birthday! God bless!

    Hi Saab!
I’d be more than happy to adopt stack #3! <3
With finals week almost done and Christmas break just around the corner, It'd be nice to have new books for company (especially since I've also just cleaned up my own book shelf and they are in need of new tenants *wink wink*).
I picked stack #3 since Wedding Night and Paper Towns have always been on my to read list. Plus the Bobbi Brown's Makeup Manual would be super helpful for a makeup noob like as myself.

Hindi na ako lumingon pa sa iba pagkatapos ko makita yung Stack No. 3. I know, in my heart, that I will always be a fan of books but since internship and board took over, I had a hard time of finding when it’s the best time to read my fave books again. I even gave up my ‘number of books to be read this year’ just so I can focus for my September board exam. Luckily, I passed! YAY. I want to give myself a reward. I want to feel alive again. And if ever youd pick me I’d be more delighted and 2015 will def be the best year ever!!! Belated Happy Birthday, Saab! ?

Hi Saab! My heart leapt when I saw your post! I super love books and I would love to be a recipient all the more because it’s from youuu <3 I have nothing against e-books, but I think it still doesn’t compare with actually holding and reading a book.

Belated happy birthday to you and to your sister! Just found out on her instagram that you share the same birthday. Hope you both had fun on your special day.

Back to the books, I would love to win stack number 1 because I’ve been wanting to explore other genres (I usually go for young adult and sort of mainstream reads). Hope to be able to give those authors a try.

    Thank you! #claimingit

    Belated happy birthday, Saab!

I love all three groups (but I extremely prefer number 2!); I’m really curious as to how and why you put those titles together. As they say, the books you read reveal a great deal about who you are, how you think, and what you feel (but having these titles already says a lot!).

Hi, Saab! Belated happy birthday, hope you had a good one! ❤

I have to admit, it was difficult to choose among the three piles. All has interesting titles, but stack #3 got me stoked!

Most of the books from the third pile have been in my to-read list for too long, and I found your giveaway to be the perfect chance for me to be finally able to read them!

I am a huge bookworm, and I would really really be happy to add stack #3 to my growing collection! ??

Thanks for putting up this awesome giveaway, Saab! More power to you! ?

I came across an fb post that says: “I used to be that person who read two 400-page books a week. Now I carry around a book with me everywhere I go to try and remember what it feels like to feel that connection within the pages because I can’t concentrate to read further than a paragraph, or remember it, for that matter. Every time I see someone engrossed in a novel, it’s bittersweet, because I miss what it is like to get lost in the written word. I just want to be able to read like that again.” and I’ve been trying to rekindle my passion for reading books. I think stack #1 is going to help me light the fire of passionate reading once again :) Thanks Sab!

Any of these stacks would be really, really fine with me but my heart skipped a beat seeing stack #3! ♥ I believe that pre-loved books are special. For me, these books have been a part of you and it takes courage to let them go.. And letting them go means you’re willing to share those feelings that you had while you own and read those books. ? Seems dramatic right? Hahaha but sharing what you love is courage. ?

Belated happy birthday to you, Saab! Keep on inspiring!!! ♥

    Stack No. 3 :)

Aside from I’ll be celebrating my 23rd birthday on the 30th of Novemeber (perfect gift yey!), I really love reading books eversince I highschool. I was seated beside a bookworm and nahawa ko. JK but seriously ibang klaseng therapy ang pagbabasa. It transcends you to other place and time. Most often than not, when I read, I lost track of everything at feeling ko nandun din ako mismo sa story. Thank you Saab, in advanceee :))) Love you sssooo :)

Hi ate Saab! I’d like to win set #2 since i’ve read quite a few reviews of the books like Red Queen and Room by Emma Donoghue & they seem really great pieces. Also, I’ve heard about Trenton Lee Stewart’s work too! I’ve been swamped in schoolwork lately hehe, i’d love to devour on these books this holiday break ? Thank you for this chance, Ms. Saab! Happy birthday to your blog and happy birthday to you!! ? God bless!

    Hello Saab! :)
I would really love to take home Stack # 2 and I promise I’ll take extra care of it! :)
I haven’t read most of the books here but they’re all on my to-read-list and I love “The Mysterious Benedict Society”! I’ve only got Book 1 though and it would be awesome if I got the next ones so the family would almost be complete. Haha! I do hope I could get to adopt your books! <3
    And
Belated Happy Birthday, Saab! Hope you had an awesome day on your birthday! Hihi. :)

Hi Miss Saab! Belated happy birthday!

Would love to have stack 1 or 3. ?

I want to try reading C. Palahnuik coz been hearing so much about him. And also would love to read MPPC series. But I would also love, like really, to have those books in stack 3 mainly because of John Green ( I cried a gallon of tears because of TFIOS ???) and JK Rowling (I just finished reading HP series last June, and I regretted that somehow because Im already 26.. So you see I was wondering with my book choices for the past years. Hahaha. I am now Certified Potterhead. Oh btw, I dont have those physical books of HP. I just downloaded those ebooks. ⚡✌)

I also want to learn how to put makeup (BobbiBrown!!!!) just because I want to be beautiful fo myself. ?

Again, belated happy birthday bookworm! God bless you and your family way way more. xoxo

Hi Saab! Happy Birthday! I would love to take home the 1st Stack mostly because I’m a thriller genre kind of girl and those books hits the right spot. Not to mention Chuck Palahniuk, whose books are my cup of tea. Read the first book of Miss Peregrine’s yet haven’t owned and read Hollow City, i’m always a sucker for books who integrates photos in their novels (like Night Film) and TIME TRAVEL!!!!!. I haven’t read for leisure for months, which i’m so guilty of, and I wanted to get back to reading this Christmas! Yoooo, anyways have a g great birthday again!

  171. Mere Gonzales

    November 26, 2015

Stack 1. I am 20 years old and I don’t like reading books but out of boredom during my internship while waiting for utos from my boss (and because mobile phones are prohibited), I finished the Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children of my co-intern. Now I want to have a copy on my own as a commemoration of the first book that I have ever finished. And because there’s Hollow City by Ransom Riggs, too. I want to know if I got to finish it because of his writing style or because of that book’s story (to be answered if I get to win it xD)

    November 26, 2015

Set 1! I’m a third-year med student and one of my ways to de-stress is to read more books! Non-medical, of course :P I want the first set because I’ve been interested in reading Palahniuk’s work and other books by Ned Vizzini, and Joe Hill but I haven’t been able too because all my money goes to food (stress eating!!), highlighters, and coffee :(( I hope you pick me! My exams are coming up in 2 weeks and I’m looking forward to spending the week after exams and Christmas break curled up in bed with a good book :D

  173. Rosario Custodio

    November 26, 2015

Hi Ate Saab! I’d like to take home Stack #1 because I want to know Ned Vizzini a little more. Reading It’s Kind of a Funny Story changed my whole life and after hearing the news about him being dead, I couldn’t stop the tears from spilling out of my eyes. Ned Vizzini is my hero and I will never use the past tense because he’s always been. I want to find him in every character he created. On a lighter note, I also fell in love automatically with Ransom Riggs because, you know, Ransereh (Ransom Riggs + Tahereh Mafi) is life. I want to take this stack home so bad for I haven’t been reading because of this slump and all the school work I had to do last semester. Now that my new schedule isn’t as hectic as before, I think now’s the time to get back to what I love doing since day one. Thank you!

    Hi, Saab

I would like to take home stack three. I’ve been single for almost a decade had just recently moved on. Books help me fight the sadness and sorrow of losing someone so precious to me. They help me believe that I am not a lost cause, and that there are people who choose to stay no matter how shitty I am. That just because I was the one left behind, does not mean I cannot love again. Books taught me to understand different types of people, their decisions, dreams and failures.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been buyibg books for some months now because I also provide for my family and that is more important. I stalked Facebook accounta of people selling booka for a very low price, but someone is always faster to comment “mine.” I am always the one who comment “next” and hope and wait but that’s all I got-hoping and waiting. So for stack three, I really hope you give them to me. I want to be chosen, I want to be able to comment “mine” and bring home the books I love.

Hi Saab! I was ecstatic to have found about this giveaway. It’d bring so much joy if I can get the first stack of books. My bookshelf definitely needs an upgrade. I chose this particular stack mainly because of Ned Vizzini and also because I’ve been dying to read Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children and Fight Club. I am a Comm Arts student and when I saw Ad Land, I thought it would be of great help to me. Also, if I may add (hoping that this will bring me closer to winning this giveaway) I am turning a year older this Christmas (no kidding :) ). SO… an early birthday x Christmas gift maybe? haha. Christmas break’s coming up and I would most probably be stuck at home so can I have the first stack to accompany me? Oh and belated happy birthday and advance hbd to spell saab.

    Happy 27 Saab!

It’s cool giving out your old books! I also do them every other year. I’m also a voracious reader like you. Anyway. I’d definitely pick stack 3! I’ve always wanted to read a John Green book but never really had a chance. I’m a big fan of his channel in YouTube btw. Such witty guy. I also love Rowling and Kinsella of course! And what luck that I haven’t read the selection in the stack. I also love Robin Sloan’s book. I read it an ebook of it and fell in love with it. Would be great to have a hard copy. And of course what girl wouldn’t love the Bobbi Brown make up manual!

I hope I win! You’re the best Saab!

    Hi Ms. Saab,

I would love to have stack # 3 on my empty bookshelf. :( Sadly, I only get to read e-books. I think, having your books would be a great start for me to finally invest on print books :)

P.S. I really admire you Ms. Saab <3 You influence me a lot in so many ways hehehe

First of all, Happy Belated Birthday, Saab! <3

I really want to have the stack #3 because most of the books included there are on my to-read list especially the one from J.K. Rowling. Not to mention that I've been a good girl this year that's why I believe that I deserve to have this wonderful stack. I've been a tita now who just prefer to stay home during weekends and curl up with my favorite reads instead of partying out and getting wasted. It was hard first but then, nakakasawa din pa lang maging cool (if that's what its called hahaha). I can always relate when you rant about being one of the titas but other's don't know that it's much better! Hahaha! Anyways, I hope that the universe may grant my wish of winning your preloved babies or better yet, I hope that the universe will conspire for me to see (and hug) you in person!

I love you, Saab plus Joey plus Jim! You're my girlfriend/wife/tita peg! Happy Holidays!

  183. Jesse Misal

    November 26, 2015

Happy birthday Saab! Wow, can I just say that I’m quite impressed with this book giveaway and your story behind it. As a book lover, I LOVE loaning books–most of the time I even shove my favorite ones to the people who I feel needs a good story or two. It feels great to share books (idk about parting with them though) so it’s pretty cool to see that you’re taking it one step further.

Anyway, I’ll choose Stack No. 1 because I feel like I really need to branch out. I’m too much into my reading comfort zone ( YA, Historical Fiction, and the like) that I feel I’m lacking in the other genre too much. Shame on me but I haven’t read any Chuck Palahniuk and I just know I HAVE to. I hope you’ll help end this “good classic book drought”.

    Thank you, Saab!

  184. Jahn Marie

    November 26, 2015

Hi saab! Im jahn, I’d love to have the 3rd option.
First, its because of my favorite authors JK Rowling and John Green, plus the make up manual. Second, The book preferences suits my character and my age. Third, I reading books but I usually stay at the bookstore for hours of reading. I dont buy much, because it wouldnt be practical. I guess those books are worth reading, and can give a lot of inspiration.

  185. Jahn Marie

*I love reading but I dont buy much, because im still a student and cant afford to buy everything I want from the bookstore* hehe. Thanks saab, hugs and kisses.

    November 26, 2015

Saaaab <3 (wow parang close haha)

Anyway I just graduated college and recently found time to catch up with my reading list. As I browsed through the first two stacks I thought it will be a crazy hard decision which one to choose but as I stumbled on the third one, I just knew that it’s the one for me. Seeing Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore in that stack made me giddy because I promised myself I will never read it as an e-book out of respect for the book’s premise. Plus the thought na it was your copy is enough to medyo make me faint (fangirl alert huhu).

As a recent working girl also I would love to have a copy of the Make Up Manual, because I’m such a noob when it comes to applying makeup. YouTube videos make me frustrated lang because their outcomes are super flawless compared to what I did to my face!

And finally, I literally said “Awwwwww” when I saw Paper Towns in the stack. It is my favorite John Green book because of its metaphors, and I would love to give it to my friend who has given me her favorite John Green novel as well, Looking For Alaska. I just want to return her gesture since she has been going through some stuff for quite a while now.

PS. I went to the recent Oh, Flamingo! EP launch in hopes to see you also but had to leave by the time Cheats was starting their set! Sobrang bad luck lang huhu. Anyway ang dami ko nang sinabi but I hope you pick me for the third stack! Thank you Saab and keep being cool and inspiring women all around!

  187. Grace

    November 27, 2015

I’d wish to take home stack 3. Because I love John Green and i’ve been wanting to read the books of Sophie K. I hope you’ll choose me. I always ready your blog and I even went back to your previous blogs and hoping for so long to join your give aways. And here it is! Yehey! I don’t have books so much but i read them through ebook or pdf because i don’t have that much to invest. :( Hopefully i’ll be one of those who get the chance to win one of your books. It will mean a lot I swear. You’re my girl peg and crush. I hope to meet you soon!

    Thank you Saabae ???

Hi Saab! I honestly don’t really like joining giveaways ’cause no matter how many times I tried, I never won or let’s say chosen(NO JOKE). But since I really like you as a person-especially now that you are willing to give away your books to some stranger, you really have my heart. I mean, for readers like you it is really hard to let go these kind of stuffs because you’re inlove with the thought of being a bookworm so yeah you want to keep these books forever…with you. You are blessed ’cause you don’t have to put so much effort to buy a book (unlike us, who are still students and not having much), so super thanks to you for giving us hope that somehow, somewhere there is someone like you who still choose to share the blessings she is receiving. I would really glad if you choose to give me the 3rd STACK. These books are kind of yeah expensive, so if its free OMG. Thank you so muuuch! SO thoughtful of you. <3 Lovelots :)

    BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAABAE!!! <3

I would love to have the 3rd stack!!! Agghhhhhh. I really think that parang personality ko yung books – comedy, novel, romance, "chick lit" (Okay, fine, I just really LOOOVE Sophie Kinsella <3) and of course, that makeup book. Jusko, I've been dying to have one of those since I was in highschool but my mom would never get me one since she thinks that it's expensive. So what I did, everytime we're in NBS (the staff would greet me everytime I enter the store and they'll tell me if someone's reading it din hahaha) was that I looked for a book that's already open and I would just sit there for hours just reading and obsessing over it. I never got to finish it though so I think this giveaway is just perfect!! Plus, I'm also curious with Robin Sloan's "Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore".

If I win, I can't wait to make my own connect-the-dots over Paper Towns and Where'd You Go Bernadette.

I also found out that I can't ~graduate~ on March 2016 and I've been crying the whole day (Who wouldn't?!?!) so I hope that these books can distract from the thought even if it's just for awhile because it is very very depressing.

    *fingers crossed*

Hi Saab hope you could pick me to get Stack #3 mainly because of these three reasons:
    1. It’s the most varied collection of books on different topics that I’ve never read yet! Also, I’ve been eyeing at least two of those titles for some time in the bookstore which would be why it would be an early Xmas treat if I get chosen!
    2. I promise after I’m done reading each title I will pass it on to someone else who has to promise to pass it on to someone else (and so on) so that these stories can be better shared and appreciated by fellow bookworms.
    3. “I’ll do a Saab” (hehe, that’s a thing now according to me!) and give away a stack of my books I’ve read as well. Thanks for the inspiration! ;)

    Hi Saab!

Its my first ever comment here on your blog but I’ve been an avid follower for a few years now. I wasn’t originally planning on joining but the second stack (duh Red Queen, Zombies vs Unicorns, and The Pocket Wife), I just can’t help it. That’s an early Christmas present right there, solid! By the way, belated happy birthday! Keep inspiring people and I look forward to more Book Club posts! God bless!

Belated Happy Birthday SAAB! 1st Stack. My life is too quiet, I want some action (at least these books can give me some? hihi!) (BTW, I’m a fan since SAABtheStrange) xoxo!

Would love to have stack #1. I’ve been busy with work that I hardly have time to catch up with some readings. Definitely having stack #1 would delight the inner bookworm in me. My shifts at work (I’m a nurse, btw) are always toxic. After a long, tiring and no eating 8-hour shift (yes, 8-hour shift without eating is crazzzzy i know but it happens), a good read like in stack#1 will surely take my mind off ,even just for a bit, from the craziness my job brings.

  203. Rica Rebanal

    November 27, 2015

All the books are nice but I choose the first stack because I like Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. It’s my birthday on December 19 and my birthday wish is to have that book. Fortunately you’re giving it away so I hope to have it.

Happy holidays to the whole Magalona-Bacarro clan! :)

Hi Saab! It would be a pleasure to read all the books from the first set! As a creative writing student, I really want to venture on reading books belonging to different genres, so as to help me experiment more on my writing. My 1st semester as a 3rd year student is about to come to an end, and I am really looking forward to our Christmas break because I want to read books for leisure again. I’ve been preoccupied with required readings from my professors and it has been a struggle to find time to just pick an interesting book and read it. These books have great reviews and I couldn’t wait to binge-read them <3

    Stay golden, Saab!

    All the love,
    Krista <3

Hi Saab! It’s soo hard to choose among the three stacks >.< It's like I'm being unfair with the unchosen ones :p Alas I cannot have all, therefore my heart goes to Stack #3. Because I don't have any of these books and my shelves are yearning for new ones. (My mom disapproves of me buying books all the time, says I should buy more clothes instead. If not, she'll turn all my books into dresses. Eeeek imagine. haha!) I'm planning of buying a Kobo E-reader on the weekend, but that doesn't mean I'm giving up on paperbacks. Stack #3 will remind me of that.

Love you Saab! Thanks in advance :D

    Saab,

The third stack would really be a welcome addition in my bookshelf!

You are such a wide reader and I wonder how despite the busy schedule you are still able to read all of these books. I am so wishing I can at least enjoy the same books you’ve read.

    Take care always.

Hi, Saab! Belated happy birthday, hope you had a good one! <3

I have to admit, it was difficult to choose among the three piles. All has interesting titles, but stack #3 got me stoked!

Most of the books in the third pile have been in my to-read list for too long, and your giveaway is the perfect chance for me to be finally able to read them!

I am a huge bookworm, and I would really really be happy to add stack #3 to my growing collection! :)

Thanks for putting up this awesome giveaway, Saab! More power to you! ^__^

    Love,
    Katt

Hi. Good day Miss Saab. Belated Happy Birthday! ?

Any of those stacks will do, so hopefully I could win this.nThis is my first time to join a giveaway. Haha. Beginners luck sana. Haha.

Would love to have those babies for many reasons. First, I would read it and would pass it to my youngest sister coz she’s also a bookworm. And after she reads it we’ll put it to our little free library. Ive already asked my Dad (oh, he’s a welder) and my cousin (and he’s a carpenter) to build a little free library in front of our house in our province. Hopefully by Feb my family and I would have enough books to fill that mini library! So fingers crossed! ?

You have a great day Miss Saab ??

    Hi Saab!

I really admire your passion for reading. Not every celebrity loves to read and I salute you for that! :)

My first love was reading and I’d read anything. Thanks to my late grandmother for introducing me to books. It has always been my relaxation. But now that I’m all grown up, working and with big responsibilities, I can’t afford to splurge on books. So, a stack of books from you would be very much appreciated. I would love to take home Stack No. 3. Thank you!

    P.S.
It’s my birthday on the 6th and it would be the best birthday gift if I’d be the one to take home that stack. Hehe. Thank you Saab and may God bless you more and more! Continue to inspire others to read. :)

Omg this! I’d pick Stack #2 cos it had me at The Pocket Wife and Unscripted!!! Plus I want to regain my love for books since reading used to be my hobby until college life ate almost my whole time due to academic stuff! Now that I’m working, I got more free time to read books but budget constraint refrain me from buying such because of my responsibilities at home (not complaining about this tho :D actually glad to help my family). So going back, I so love the thought of you giving away your pre-loved books!!! That even made the books extra special cos it’s owned by my life-peg, THE SAAB MAGALONA-BACARRO!

    Hi Saab,

My bookshelf would be more than happy to welcome the books in set #1. I want it because of Chuck Palahniuk <3. Also, I'm having a hard time now picking what to read next and this books will help me solve my dilemma! haha Last month I borrowed Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children from a friend but since she need it back I wasn't able to finish it. If I ever I win this giveaway (haha) I'd be able to finish the book plus I get to have a physical copy of the book which also means I don't have to rely on finding an ebook of it (yay!). Rest assured that if I win this your books will be treated with utmost respect and unconditional love. Email: naandguce@gmail.com :))

Thanks Saab and belated happy birthday!!
You're an inspiration to many so keep on doing what you're doing. Take care and be happy!! :)

    Thanks,

I haven’t read for almost 2 years and my bookshelf is so dusty (i’m sorry babies), I tried reading once in a while, but I can’t keep up because of my thesis before and now that i’m working I still couldn’t find the time to read because i’m always tired (tumatanda na lol). Anyway, I’ve been eyeing the series of “The Mysterious Benedict Society” and I think it’s the perfect book to help me get back on track again. So, please, please let me have the STACK #2 , I promise I will read, and take care of them, and probably lend some to my bookish friends too! Thanks, Saab! And happy birthday to you!

    Hi, Saab!!!
    Belated happy birthday! :D
I so want Stack 3! <3 I have read some of the books, though (Bernadette is my favorite! I can so relate to her), but as eBooks, and I broke my Kindle and my phone (I know, I suck) and now I feel so lost. It's also my fault since I pretty much just rely on my Kindle now and I have almost zero space na for hard copies (plus some of the cats have been sick so I had to buy lots of medicines, books have to wait) buuuuut now, I feel like I could start over again.

Also I've been seriously depressed and my anxiety has been awful lately. Everything just seemed to crash down all at the same time and maybe, winning something would give me some of my drive back. (not making paawa lol, it's just the truth)

P.S. I miss your "Ask Saab" posts! huhu

Belated Happy Birthday again! Blissful year ahead! xoxoxox

Hi saab! I would like to have stack 3 simply because Im turning 25 this dec 11 and I think it’s about time I learn how to put some makeups and move on from using baby powder and chapstick because obviously I’m now turning from a girl into a woman (maybe I’m a late bloomer hehe) . So maybe reading the Makeup Manual by Bobbi Brown will help me in my “methamorphosis”. Thanks Saab.

If you let me have it I can read it!, I want everything but because I’m not selfish too, I will be choosing Stack #3 :) Drama muna ako konti, I don’t have books I’m just borrowing and I think Stack #3 will be a good starter pack for me to have. yehey *sabog confetti* :)

For me, I NEED to read a book to reduce my stress and for free entertainment and I LOVE to read a book because it gives me additional knowledge, it expand my vocabulary, and for better writing skills, but………I WANT your books to be honest! because (*insert drum roll*)

it’s all FREEEEEEEEEEE who doesn’t want a free books!
    OMG free! free! free!

I’d love to have the books on stack 3 because I’ve been wanting and longing to read Mr. Penumbra’s 24 hour book store and Paper Towns but my allowance isn’t enough to let me have those books so I hope I’d be the one you’d choose to hand down the books on that stock. It’ll be on good hands. I swear. :)) And I’ll be more than willing to get the books anywhere here in Manila.

P.S The Make Up Manual by Bobbi Browns would be of great help to since I am down to my last year in college and I still do not know how to put make up on by myself and the tips on how to do it by your own and what make ups are the best for my face so I guess it’s so perfect for me. I will be doing my internship this summer and I guess I need to know how to put at least some color on my face to make me look like presentable, not that I do not look like one but more presentable in other people’s view, I mean :))

I HOPE YOU’D CHOOSE ME TO BE THE NEW OWNER OF YOUR BOOKS. It would definitely be a privilege :)) LOVE YOU SAAB AND I’D SUPER LOVE TO MEET YOU :))

Hi, Saab! Belated happy 27th and happy 12th to your blog <3<3<3

I'm going to be honest; I'm the ultimate book hoarder. I have a huge pile of books categorized as to-read's and currently reading… But knowing that they're just there waiting for me to open them and flip those glorious pages, it gives me this weird but satisfying sense of comfort. Also, I think taking up literature way back in college further emphasized my love for books and reading. So please believe me when I say that this giveaway took me to nirvana *cue Sam Smith's UH-MAY-ZEEEENG voice huhu* even though I have not won anything yet.

Okay, dami ko pa sinabi lelz.

I would really, REALLY love to get stack #3 because I think it's the perfect combination of genres. Ever since I graduated I've been reading a lot of YA lately, much to the disappointment of my college professors because they're the ones who exposed me to so many amazing writers and authors HAHA! I would like to explore other stories and genres and I think that stack #3 will do the trick for me. I also know some of my friends who would love to receive some of the books from the pile so I'll get to hit two birds with one stone and everybody will be happy.

Not to mention my bookshelf. I can already feel the shelves making room on their own haha!

Thank you for this generous giveaway, Saab! And I cannot wait to meet you on December 12, I'll be waiting for more deetz. Ganda mo, girl!!! <3

Hi Saab! ? I saw your IG post about this book giveaway on IG last wednesday and yeah, here I am joining and hoping to win the Set #3 (Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen, CLASS by Cecily Von Ziegesar, Paper Towns byr John Green, Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella, Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple, The Casual Vacancy by J.K Rowling, Mr.Penumbre’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan, Makeup Manual by Bobbi Brown) ? It’s sakto because my cousin and I loves reading. Its our habit everytime we have free time. Actually, we share books like I buy books, she buy books too and after reading it, we exchanged books ? It is such a wonderful feeling to have a cousin who also loves reading, right? We became close (as in close na close) because of being so inlove on reading books talaga ? And I am thankful for that. Currently, I am reading FANGIRL by Rainbow Rowell ? And hopefully, after reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, I will be able to read those books in Set #3 and share it to my cousin. I know she will loved it because her fave author is Sophie Kinsella ? Probably, I only have 50% of chance for this because Im not good in telling why should I win those books but Im praying and hoping to win ?☝? Promise! Will take good care of your books. I am known for being a good borrower of books. Yas, seriously because I also borrow books to my bffs eh ☺️ Why should I win those books? Because (1) I love reading books, (2) I have a lot of time now because I didn’t enroll this sem (finacial problem), (3) Reading is my favorite thing to do everytime/everyday, (3) Im good in taking care of things, especially books because they’re like a treasure to me, (4) Reading books let me imagine things and makes me feel happy, (5) I will share it to my cousin, who also loves reading, (6) I love collecting books, seeing those books in my room amazed me so much because “Wooah! I owned those books, I read it, what a great feeling”, (7) because I AM A CERTIFIED BOOKISH GIRL! And I AM PROUD OF THAT ?? Okay, maybe my comment is too long na. Basta I am praying and hoping to have those books and share it also to my cousins ? Thank you for giving us (“reading books” lovers ?) this opportunity. I really promise to take good care of those book, if I will be given a chance ? Btw, I am from Metro Manila (Hihihi ??) and here’s my e-mail address: rishbee0703@yahoo.com ? Godbless!

I can only flick through the pages of these books in bookstores and it pains me to know the fact that I am not able to bring these babies home. So pretty please, please choose me. I’m a huge fan of BookSale and online preloved books (where you have to comment MINE to reserve a book) since budget’s a bit tight but still feel the NEED to hoard books. #BookwormProblems Hahaha!

Hi Saab! 1st, Belated Happy Birthday to you and Maxx.

I like every book stacks you’re giving away. Its so hard to choose since all of them are good books to read. I do love books and i read once in a while if i have time. Now, since I’m pregnant and I’m taking my Maternity Leave soon it would be nice to have books to read while staying at home waiting for my baby to come out. I’ll be very much happy (and baby ?) if i will win in this awesome treat that you’re giving away. And I have to resist myself for buying books for now because saving money is a must. Anyway, I really like the stacks 1 or 2.

Thank you for making your readers special and inspired in this wonderful giveaways. And… yes. I’m a your fan ever since ( I can’t remember when).

    Thanks and God Bless

It would be great to read more of Palahniuk’s works and the copies coming from you would be a huge bonus. Wala naman akong mararason, pero gusto ko lang talaga basa. November 27, 2015

    Hi Saab!

I only have 3 reasons for joining and I hope you find them reasonable enough:

    1. Chuck Palahniuk is one of my favorite authors, I’ve read Snuff, Choke, Rant and Pygmy but I haven’t read Fight Club even I’ve watched it countless times already.

    2. I’ve been dying to get my hands on one of those Ransom Riggs’ books. But due to budget constraints I don’t have a chance to buy ’em. *sobs*
Of course the needs of my family is more important than my love for books. That’s why I always try to rummage stuff in booksales and the likes.

    3. I’ve been a fan and a blog reader for the longest time! I’ve seen you and had photo ops with you during gigs, charity events like the bazaar for Yolanda victims or just casually jumping around in Bside or during Lakihan Mo Logo events. One stack of books is more than enough remembrance for me from one of my girl-crush/inspiration in life.

Thanks for reading this. Keep inspiring other people and never get tired of being a blessing each and every day of your life.
    God bless and Rock On!

Lots of love and awkward hugs,
    Nagie

I want stack #3. I am currently reading Paper Towns on ebook but can’t seem to finish it because I want a hard copy of the book. I am a fan of Sophie Kinsella, I’ve read all her books except Wedding Night. And Mr. Penumbra’s 24 hour bookstore is on my book wishlist since forever haha. If I get those books, I would not only enjoy them but I would also gladly share/give some of the books to my friends. Email is melissa_cruz@ymail.com

    Hi Saab!

Belated Happy Birthday! Here I am trying my luck and hopefully I get chosen! It was only recently when I started following your blog, and boy, I am so hooked! I love the way you are able to connect with your readers and it feels like you are talking and sharing your stories to us readers in person. I would love to get stack # 1 because I long wanted to read Palahniuk and the bunch is a good range of different genre that I don’t usually read. It’ll be a breather from the YA novels I am reading recently! Haha. Books are my solace especially with the toxic work I have in the office, books make me forget all the stress and worries and I always get transported to a different realm away from it all in for just a while.

Wishing and hoping that you’ll pick me, Saab! Looking forward to reading your next posts and hope I also get to meet you!

    xoxo,
    sarah

Stack #3 please! I’ve read them all but one.cannot.have.enough.books!!! Patatawarin na siguro ako ng authors for reading their books in digital form. I miss the smell of the pages, the warmth of the covers, and having an obvious shield to strangers for when you’re out and about and reading your book. Mukha lang akong millenial when I’m reading epubs using my phone. :( Looking forward to winning! Thanks Saab and happy birthday month to us! <3

    Hi Saab!

J.K.’s Casual Vacancy has been on the list for like forever! And Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore which I learnt from you (just like The Night Circus which I gave to my friend for her debut, I was one of the 18 books! Just because you said it was good hehe) A Sophie Kinsella novel, of course. And I’ve been wanting to explore more on make-up recently so maybe that Bobbi Brown book would help. So, stack #3! It would really feel surreal reading dream books that came from you. Early Merry Christmas, Saab!

Hi Saab! Belated Happy 27th Birthday :)

Definitely, I would choose stack 3 (Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen, This is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz (NOTE: I’m so sorry but apparently I just gave this to my friend who wanted it so this won’t be part of the bunch), CLASS by Cecily Von Ziegesar, Paper Towns by John Green, Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella, Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple, The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling, Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan, Makeup Manual by Bobbi Brown) because i love these books specially the makeup manual! i’ve been wanting to learn how to do my own makeup! :)

Thank you in advance Saab! happy for your LASIK procedure :) 2 more months and you’ll be celebrating your 1st anniversary with Jim! Cant wait to see little jim and saab! :)

Hi Saab!!! Belated happy birthday to you and Maxx! As much as I want to say all *~mushy mushy greeting~*, I’d rather go straight to the point:

I want to have the third stack pleaaaassseeee!

Since you just turned 27, here’s 7 reasons why I want to win those books (haha):
1.) I’m a bookworm like you, but I mostly prefer reading romance, YA and especially beauty books since I am so into makeup! In fact you can check my blog if you want proof. :)
2.) I also love Sophie Kinsella (and every romance, chic litt books) ever since!!!
3.) I’ve been planning to read “This Is How You Lose Her”, “Paper Towns” and “Casual Vacancy” because they were suggested to me by a friend, but never got to because I haven’t had a copy. :(
4.) I’ve been planning to buy Bobbi Brown’s Makeup Manual from a sale bookstore (*wink!) but it’s still a bit expensive so please let this be your Christmas gift to someone like me. :”>
5.) If you give this stack to me, I promise to give back and share the books you’ve given me so that I can also bless someone and extend your generosity to that person. :)
    6.) I’ve been a fan since Lip Gloss. <3
7.) You're one of my fashion, attitude and lifestyle peg/goals and inspiration

    P.S.,
    Please pick meeee!!!

Thank you Saab! Advance Merry Christmas and may God bless you more <3

    Hi, Saab!

You inspired me a lot on discovering new things and your personal reflections on life and love. I have been always been a fan and an avid blog follower since your Tumblr days. I thank you for your generosity and cheerfulness. Books are truly meant to be read and to be shared. Pak! Havey na havey ang book club giveaway promo!

I am writing and hoping to get chosen to receive your third stack of books. I would love to have your books as advance birthday gifts. You have great selections from Chuck Palahniuk to Yann Martel to John Greene and J.K. Rowling to name great reads. I choose your third stack of books since Water For Elephants and Paper Towns are two of my favorite movies to date. Sophie Kinsella’s stories always crack me up with her wit and candor. I’ve read all her Shopaholic series on e-book formats and the Undomestic Goddess and Twenties Girl on paperback. She’s amazing. Thus, it also excites me as well to get to read Cecily Von Ziegesar, Maria Semple and Robin Sloan plus Bobbi Brown at that! Kinikilig ako, anuvey..

Dear universe, here’s hoping for an awesome experience with these authors. PUSH!! Salamat pooooo!

P.S. You Cheats, rock! Newspaper Girl is my ringtone and also my favorite track to dance to while in the shower. Hehe! Chill lang as ever! Winner!

Hi Saab! I’d love to win the first stack since I’ve been wanting to read Fight Club for the longest time! It’s never in any bookstores here in Baguio and when it is, I always dont have the money to buy it :))) I’m a huge fan of Palahniuk so it’s an added bonus that there’s more than one Palahniuk book! And and and Ransom Riggs has always intrigued me so it would be such a treat to get this pile and cross off a bunch of books from my “To Buy” list :) This would totally be the best birthday gift (which is Dec3 :D) and Christmas gift ever! :D

    Hey Saab!

I’ve been reading your blog since 2009 and I didn’t realize it’s already turning 12! Yay! Many happy returns to you as well, I hope you had a good one!

They say it’s all about ‘paying it forward’ and I’ve seen this countless times here. It’d be awesome if I could get the first stack, please! Been meaning to read Chuck Palahniuk but I never got the chance (or budget) to buy any of his books. If I’d be lucky enough to get those books, I’ll definitely pay it forward and host a giveaway via my IG too! Will tag you for sure as my inspo. <3

PS – I wonder if you've read H. Murakami? His short stories are down right charming. <3

More power to your blog. Padayun!

I’d like the third stack, please. I haven’t read anything interesting in a while… I think JK Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy would be the best way to re-ignite my love for reading!

  267. Vergelle

    November 27, 2015

I’d like to have Stack 1 because I have not read any of those books yet. I’ve been wanting to start reading Chuck Palahniuk for so long but I always end up buying something else whenever I’m at the bookstore.

If you pick me, I’m going to give you some of the books I’ve been intending to trade at Bookay Ukay in Maginhawa. Our house really needs decluttering too, and since I’m going to leave by the end of the year to study in Singapore, I think this is a good time to trade books so I can get new ones to read while I’m away.

Off the top of my head I can definitely give you these:
    – Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling)
    – The Circle by Dave Eggers
    – Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl, although this is very much loved and heavily dog-eared. It’s my favorite murder mystery book of all time, but I’m willing to give it to you because I think you might like it too :) :) :)

I’ll have to check our bookshelf when I go home tomorrow and give you a photo of my books too, and then you can choose up to 9. What say you? :D But

(On second thought, you might not pick me because your plan is to declutter! Hahaha, anyway, it’s up to you!!!)

    Hi Saab!

I’m so glad that you got the chance to share your books. Stack # 3 caught my attention primarily because of these three books: JK Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy, Sophie Kinsella’s The Wedding Night and John Green’s Papertowns. I have an ebook copy of Papertowns and I am halfway through it. I would love to finish reading it while feeling and smelling the paper of a real book. I already read The Wedding Night but also with an ebook copy. I was planning to buy an actual book so that I can re-read it. I love JK because of Harry Potter. And I would love to read her other work. I would also like to read the other books from the stack. And I feel giddy about it.

I really love reading. I am ecstatic whenever I read, especially when I use an actual physical book. I love the smell and the feels. I really hope you choose me, Saab! Thank you and God bless. :)

    Hello, Ate Saab!

I’ve been an avid reader (silent reader, if I may add) of your blog since last year, 2014, and I’ve always wanted to join your book giveaways but I always miss the opportunity because of my shyness to leave a comment here in your blog. But here I am, finally conquering my shyness to take a chance on this another book giveaway of yours because I badly want to take home book stack number 3.

I really hope that you can pick me. I badly want to yell, “I volunteer” to take home everything but that would be greedy and there are too many “volunteers” here so I’ll just take my chance to get chosen by you. :)

Nevertheless, whether I get picked or not, I will always stay as a reader of your blog and I will always fangirl because you and Kuya Jim are #goals! I love you, Ate Saab. Sorry for being “feeling close”! Haha.

    God bless you, always. <3

    Hi, Ate Saab!

So here I am, trying my luck to join your book giveaway to take home stack number 3 (pls pls pls). But seriously, I’ve been an avid reader of your blog since last year, 2014, and I’ve always wanted to join your book giveaways (but I am to shy sooooo). I really hope that you’ll pick me because that third stack is just perfectttttt (J.K. Rowling, John Green and Sophie Kinsella!!!!) nevertheless, whether I get picked or not, I will always be you silent reader and I will always fangirl over you and Kuya Jim because you are #relationshipgoals.

I love you, Ate Saab! I am looking forward to meet you one day. I saw you last year at RFest but I wasn’t able to ask for a picture so sana next time, makapagpapicture na ako. Hehe. This is too ‘feeling close’ so please forgive me. I love you!!! <3

I cant even maintain a diary/journal for a week much less at least a decade (damn the movies lied to us by making journal writing so easy!!) Anyway, i would love to adopt your 3rd stack of books because i mean free books amirite? But seriously, i have been waiting to read Mr. Penumbra and The Casual Vacancy for months but havent had the time for it so is this a sign? (What are we??) and a mox of light reading courtesy of John Green and Sophie Kinsella. Again Happy Birthday!!

    Hi Saab,

I wasn’t sure if you’ve seen my earlier comment so I’ll just post it again just in case and also because I’m that desperate (lol :p)

My bookshelf would love to adopt the books in Set #1. I want it cause I heard that books of Chuck Palahniuk are a must reads. Last month, I borrowed Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children from a friend but since she needs it back I wasn’t able to finish the book. If ever I win this giveaway, I’ll have the chance to finish the book and plus I get to have a physical copy of it. I don’t have to rely on ebooks anymore (yahoo!!) Also, I’m having a hard time thinking on what to read next so I think if I win this giveaway you’ll be able to help me solve my dilemma haha. I assure you that these books will be treated with utmost respect and unconditional love.

Oh and also, Belated Happy Birthday!!
You’re an inspiration to many so continue doing what you’re doing! Take care and stay happy!!

I would love to win/have the 3rd stack because
    1) JK Rowling (and I am really interested with how this book is written/ different from the HP Series);
and 2) I have been meaning to read most of the titles in this stack, always going back to Fullybooked to browse through them. I have not been able to because of adult priorities and responsibilities. I think this will be a really great opportunity for me to go back to what I love ever since — reading.

Also, I plan on paying it forward — giving away books that I have read/been keeping. Like you said, books and knowledge and imaginations are meant to be shared to everyone especially to those who do not have the means to do so :)

    PS Love you Saab!

What I would to to have the set with Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. I love the movie at gustong gusto ko siyang basahin. Ayoko nang ebook kasi alam mo yan, mas masaya magbasa nang totoong libro. Kaso ang mahal nang mga libro teh!!! Yung totoo? Wala akong ma chambahan nito sa Book Sale or Book for Less, grabe kahit sa Recto, mahal ang mga libro. :( paano na kameng mahihirap na mahilig magbasa? :( grabe talaga. Basta. I would love to have stack #2 and read Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore. Just what you’ve learned, books are meant to be read and shared so I’ll share it too. My brother would love to read Paper Towns, my cousin will surely be excited to have Wedding Night and my sister will surely glow after reading Makeup Manual by Bobbi Brown. After successfully reading the books I’ll hand it over to my friend (a public school teacher) who’s currently in charge of the Reading Classes in their school and collecting books for her mini library. It will surely be a great addition and will also help students who love reading. Very timely because its National Book Month! Belated Happy Birthday!

I’m all for stack 1. Lately, I’ve been really busy with my academics that I ‘m losing my interest in reading. During my free time all I want to do is sleep and bum around. I know it sounds bad but stress has a way of making you hate the things that you love. But I’m trying to find my way back. I miss reading, I truly do so I want to start falling in love with the pages and the words again and I think that the first stack will help me find my way back to one of my first loves, which is books.

And belated Happy Birthday to one of my favorites! Happy Birthday Saab! :)

Anyways, I would love to have stack 3, simply because i’ve been wanting to read the books of Sophie Kinsella and I so love John Green. :) I don’t have much books because I don’t have much to invest. :( :) but, i normally read through ebooks or pdf. I am really really waiting for your book giveaways to happen and finally i will be able to join. (still hoping to win) And one more reason why i would love to take home this stack is that i can be able to share this books with my friends who’s also a book nerd. :) And my friend loves you also. i

    Hi, Saabelly.

I’m so sad because I think I too late for this already. I have been very sick until this morning so I wasn’t able to check the internet :(((((

BUT STILLL!! I’m doing this!! Because I believe that I deserve to get a stack from you. Because I’ve been lurking on your blog since like forever. I’ve always wanted to receive a book from you. Even a single one would make me sooooo happy but you’re giving away a stack! How generous and sweet, right?? I admire you so much :(((

Any stack would do. Because everything seems good. But if I were to choose, I’d like to have stack #3. Why? Because it has different genres that will color my world brighter and darker at the same time. I LIKE ALL THE AUTHORS FROM THE STACK #3!!!!! Except for the Bobbi Brown manual. But hey!! That’s a good book. I like that :((( PLUS!! I’d be willing to share some to other friends (FAN OF YOURS, TOO!!) who, I know, wouldn’t be able to afford to buy a book, since it’s Christmas, what a gift, right? They say share your blessings. If I were to be blessed with your books, I’m not just sharing the book itself, but your sweetness, as well :)

I KNOW I’M LATE BUT I STILL HOPE YOU PICK ME. HUHU. PLEAAASE :(( <3

    Love lots and God bless,
    Karen :)

How generous and sweet :(((

I’d like to have stack #3. Why? Because it has different genres that will color my world brighter and darker at the same time. I LIKE ALL THE AUTHORS FROM THE STACK #3!!!!! Except for the Bobbi Brown manual. But that’s a good book. I like that :((( PLUS!! I’d be willing to share some to other friends (FAN OF YOURS, TOO!!) who, I know, wouldn’t be able to afford to buy a book, since it’s Christmas, what a gift, right? They say share your blessings. If I were to be blessed with your books, I’m not just sharing the book itself, but your sweetness, as well :) I KNOW I’M LATE BUT I STILL HOPE YOU PICK ME. HUHU. PLEAAASE :(( <3

    Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk.
I’ve seen the movie twice and I still get my mind blown every time i watch the movie. you can’t get your mind blown more than once let alone twice, but i still want to read the book. books are better than the movies.

i hope i can be lucky enough to have it. it’s going to be my first chuck palahniuk book so it’s going to be a special one :)

Happy birthday Saab!!! How awesome can you get for sharing away your books?! I would love to take home STACK 3!!! I find it hard to choose which stack to take a bet on because I love all of them! This would be a perfect treat for me and my friends who share an equal amount of love for books. We rotate the books we bought so save money and still get the same juice out of them. Kinsella, Rowling and Green are my absolute favorites! And I have been really eyeing on that Sloan book a few months ago. You are one gem of a reader! Keep on rocking!!

Belated happy birthday, Ate Saab! I want to join this book giveaway because I’m starting to love reading books. And I hope this is my chance to start of being an avid reader. I usually borrow books from my friends. My bestfriend gave me the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and I’m hoping to win the Hollow City book. Pretty please? :) I love you so much, Ate Saab!!!

    Hi Saab! Happy Birthday!
I choose the third option. First, because I’m a fan of JK rowling and John Green. Second the book preferences are suitable for my age. Third, I know these books are worth reading and can give me life inspirations. Lastly, I love reading books but It would be practical to receive gifts (wink) because Im still a student. hehe.

#3 stacks Ate Saab because it gives a Aha-moment to readers. Those books are readable novel provides meaning to the world we live in, which is to say that the succession of events must make sense. The interplay of events and character behavior moves plot forward. The writer’s hand remained invisible.

I would happily accept Stack 3!

Lately, I’ve been consuming more ebooks than actual books. I think it’s high time I renew my love for the real thing by reading all these great titles!

    Happiest Birthday Saab! ;)

Hello Saab! :) I would love to have the 3rd stack. I just entered the point in my life where I am slowly learning the art of make-up. I am now 19 years old and I am willing to learn more about it by reading Bobbi Brown’s book. I saw it once in FullyBooked and immediately fell in love with it. Unfortunately for me, it was very expensive. I couldn’t afford it myself. So I am hoping to have one book that can help me with this new found love of mine without asking money from my parents. Second reason would be that it would be nice to have my own hardbound copy of the books there because I only have pdf copies that I downloaded online of This is how you lose her and Wedding Night. I was sure back then that I would be collecting epub and pdf copies of books because I had no choice, I can’t afford the books. I sometimes go to BookSale to check if they’re available there, but most of the time it’s not. So thank you Saab for having this kind of Giveaways! It’s a big help for people like me. :)

Continue being awesome ;) & belated Happy Birthday!
