Inspired by women’s meetings during women’s liberation in the 60s and the riotgrrrl movement in the 90s, Grrrl Gang Manila aims to create a safe, nonjudgemental space for women in the Philippines to discuss the issues that affect them, face to face. We want to open the dialogue for feminism and Filipina women’s issues in our setting in a casual, non-intimidating way, and learn from each other’s experiences and thoughts.

Just on Grrrl Gang Manila’s Facebook page (like it here), I’ve already learned so much. They’ve got links to a lot of articles (including this one about menstrual cups!!).

Tomorrow, March 25, is the very first Grrrl Meet in UP Diliman!

Please take note:

While we love our male feminist friends, the meetings are woman only, including trans women, those who were assigned female at birth, and all others who identify as female, genderqueer or non-binary. We promise to have other events where men can come join in the future!

I’ve been messaging with Grrrl Gang Manila founder Mich Dulce and offering Cup Fiction as a venue for future Grrrl Meets! Crossing my fingers for that one. I told her that I thought this project of hers is awesome and she replied with, “its our project saab!❤️ girls for girls!” So don’t be intimidated to join the Grrrl Meet! I’ll see you there and, hopefully, we will learn from one another!

P.S. Read about why Mich Dulce thinks we should all be feminists.

Awesome stuff! Just wish they had this while I was in college. It’s like a flower-power-girl-thing. Which it is. I know I’m not making sense. BUT! Just that girls have something to look forward to and talk about you know, everything. As in everything.
