Let’s pretend this post is not a month delayed. Hehe. I totally skipped blogging about the last day of our Japan holiday!!
For our final day in Osaka, we woke up early and snuck in a trip to the famous Osaka Castle.
It was such a beautiful day out, we got ice cream and coffee from the vending machine and watched this amazing street performer right outside the castle
We decided not to go inside the castle anymore. Instead we just walked around the park.
We saw this nice structure perfect for photos and, of course, we took advantage
Glad I married this little weirdo
We took a train to Dotonbori for lunch and found this little outdoor food market and it was perfect because we wanted to try eating something more casual, like Singapore’s hawker centers.
Here’s the exact address if you want to check it out: 1 Chome-4-20 Dōtonbori, Chūō-ku, Ōsaka-shi, Ōsaka-fu 542-0071, Japan. Just put that address on Google Maps and you’ll find it!
After lunch, we split up to go shopping! I took the girls to Don Quijote and we said we’d only stay for 30 minutes but I think we ended up staying for over an hour. Haha! That place has everything.
Then we went to Village Vanguard where we got all the pasalubongs and stuff-we-don’t-need. Jim and I got a star projector. It does exactly that: projects the stars onto your ceiling. It’s so pretty, I should take a photo of it and share with you. It’s also where we got all our Star Wars jacket patches.
After shopping, we all met up for dinner at Ganko Hozenji! We had a private room and it was a great New Year’s Eve dinner with the family.
We shared our resolutions for the year. Mine is to be in bed by 10pm at the latest every night (except when I have gigs) and to read 2 books a month. So far so good!! I’ve read 3 books this month and I’ve been asleep by 10pm most nights. I really hope to keep up the better sleeping habits and reading instead of watching Netflix to sleep. Hehe.
Went back to the hotel to pack, met up at the hotel lobby at 11pm to countdown to the New Year, took a quick nap before getting picked up for our airport transfer at 4AM.
Super nakakaloka sa Kobe Airport because our flight to Tokyo was at 7:10AM but the actual airport doesn’t open until 6AM. There were lots of people waiting for it to open and we were kind of panicking because we didn’t want to miss our connecting flight (Tokyo-Manila).
Exactly at 6AM, the airport gates opened and people rushed in! We almost ran up the escalators with them until we realized the check-in counters were just on the ground floor. Apparently, people rushed to the rooftop to get a good view of the first sunrise of the year. Awww!
Anyway, the airport was so efficient we had no problems making our 7:10 flight.
We landed in Manila at around 2PM and Jim and I went straight to my mom’s house in Antipolo to pick up my baby bear!!
It was back to regular programming when we got home
Candy’s Ate Jill left a Christmas gift for me at the lobby. It was this tiger face mask and I put it on to rejuvenate my skin after exposing it to Japan’s harsh winds! Jim got so scared when he saw me. Hahaha
Anyway, this post may be late but here’s another resolution I’m making a month late as well: I want to regularly update my blog (I aim for more than one post a week!!). Hoping I stick to it especially with the new look! Do you like it?! Because I LOVE it.
