Hello, friends. Currently at a beautiful villa in San Benito, Batangas to celebrate our wedding anniversary. But Jim and I have set aside some time to get some work done and here I am trying to fulfill my once-a-day blogging ritual. I know I’ve missed a few days already gahhh but I’m trying.
Let’s be as random as we can be: I wanna share some movies coming out in February. The list will be in chronological order according to their US release dates. You may click the titles to watch the trailers!
A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy (Sam Riley) is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all. (source)
YES: I know Lily James from Downton Abbey but she is more famous for her title role in the recent Cinderella movie (haven’t seen it, sorry). I like her and I love her name. It’s Harry Potter’s parents. Her real-life boyfriend, Matt Smith (Doctor Who), is also in the film. Also, Queen Cersei is in this movie.
NO: I did NOT like the 300 sequel that Queen Cersei (lol like she doesn’t have a real name) was part of. Horrible trailer, this has a huge chance of sucking.
Hail Caesar! Follows a day in the life of Eddie Mannix, a Hollywood fixer for Capital Pictures in the 1950s, who cleans up and solves problems for big names and stars in the industry. But when studio star Baird Whitlock disappears, Mannix has to deal with more than just the fix. (source)
YES: Coen Brothers. All-star cast. Awesome story.
Based upon Marvel Comics most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. (source)
YES: I love Ryan Reynolds. Looks like it’s gonna be fun! Definitely a must-see. Plus, TJ Miller (Silicon Valley) is in it!
NO: He may be under pressure to redeem himself after the Green Lantern disaster. I felt like there were too many jokes crammed into the trailer. Maybe it’s just me, I don’t know!
YES: It’s got a lot of people I like in it. Alison Brie, Leslie Mann, Damon Wayans, Jr.
NO: It’s got Rebel Wilson in it. She has literally never made me laugh.
Based on the novel of the same name, an author writing a book about bachelorettes becomes entangled in an international affair while conducting hands-on research abroad. The author and her friends are single New Yorkers who would all much rather be in committed relationships. On a whim, Julie, the writer, decides to write a book about the experiences of single women around the world. She takes a leave of absence from her job as a publicist, jets off to France, and encounters a man named Thomas, who is in an open marriage. Even as she continues her travels to other countries, Julie longs for Thomas, who meets up with her again in Bali, jump-starting a torrid affair. While Julie is off seeing the world, her friends are back in New York, growing closer to each other as their lives develop in wild ways. (source)
YES: It’s Zoolander 2. Yes yes yes.
NO: Just crossing my fingers it won’t try so hard.
YES: Might be so bad it’s good?
NO: Will probably be so bad.
A story of lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption. (source)
YES: Michelle Yeoh. Netflix.
NO: It’s in English. What the heck was that trailer? What was that horrible music? Why is it in English?? Also, I miss Chow Yun Fat and Zhang Ziyi. What are they up to now?
In “Triple 9,” a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist. The only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down”. Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck, action-packed finale filled with double-crosses, greed and revenge. (source)
YES: AWESOME CAST. This looks so bad ass. Now that’s good trailer music. I like how they didn’t completely explain everything in the trailer like how other movies give everything away. Also, KATE WINSLET!
NO: Can’t think of any.
What movies are you looking forward to? Did I miss anything coming out next month? Okay, gonna get a massage now! Hehe. Good night!
