Spell Saab Bullet Journal

October 16, 2017 29 Comments

I’ve always been such a scatterbrain. I keep forgetting to do things because it feels like I always have a million things going on in my head at once. Once I learned that writing down my thoughts actually helps de-clutter my mind, I tried to find the perfect process for my productivity.

I used to rely on apps and technology for to-do lists and such until I came to terms with the fact that I am more productive when using pencil and paper.

There are no multi-tab distractions!

So happy to introduce my very first merchandise in my 14 years of blogging!!! YAY! It’s a bullet journal!

For those who have never heard of a bullet journal, here’s a short video:

I’m not so into the graphics and crazy calligraphy you can find on bullet journaling (Pinterest has a lot!). I feel like I would have more cutesy stuff on my journal but I have horrible handwriting 😂 Here’s a little sneak peek of my own BuJo!

Spell Saab Bullet Journal

I produced two different covers (TWINS!!) with the help of Gelo Lopez (check out his YouTube page!)

“Toys”

They both come with exclusive Spell Saab die-cut stickers designed by Nica Hizon, who helped me even with her super busy schedule working for Linya-Linya!

“Focus”

If you’re a super duper long-time blog reader of mine, you’d know that Focus On Hocus Pocus was my original blog mantra — a saying I got from my Emily The Strange days. Hehe. I still believe in the mantra but not in the goth way that Emily The Strange may have wanted. I say FOCUS ON HOCUS POCUS: prioritize your magic or what you are passionate about!

I have an index page but you can totally skip that if you want. I think the Future Log is very important so you don’t lose track of important dates!

Future Log

My monthly log is super simple! Left page: my month at a glance. On the right page are my tasks and duties for the month.

Monthly Log

The recurring tasks post-it is moved to the next month. The cute WISH LIST sticker is Japan pasalubong from my friend Manny 💕 I look back at the monthly log page every Sunday when I make my weekly layout.

Weekly/Daily Log

I’ve made it my Sunday ritual to create a weekly layout so that I’m ready for the next 7 days. I also have a post-it for recurring weekly duties. On the left page, I write down events and big tasks. On the right page is the daily log, that’s where you put all the nitty-gritty. I try not to just make it all about tasks and goals, I also like taking note of fun stuff that happened that day.

I swear by my BuJo especially now that I’ve got the infamous ~pregnancy brain~ 😅 It’s so easy to forget things now! On my daily log, I use a pencil to number all the day’s tasks. Jim gave me this very useful advice to know what to prioritize: if neglected, which of these tasks will likely lead to loss of money? Do it now. And then sneak in some tasks that take less than 2 minutes to finish. This helps a lot for self-employed professionals like myself! I have no boss to tell me what to do for the day. It’s all up to me so it’s easy to F things up!

My tweets above are a summary of what I learned using my bullet journal and the pomodoro technique!

Additional tip for the ladies: on your monthly log, you can pencil in a small plus sign on the left side of the day you’re expecting your period! When it actually comes, you can use a pen (I like using a red one hehe).

You can now purchase my Bullet Journal through the Linya-Linya online store!!

I also made these handy dandy buttons below so you can easily purchase them 😌

I made very limited copies so try to get one before the Christmas rush!😊 Thanks for your support!!!

♥,
Saab

I’ve been doing lots of trials and errors when it comes to jouraling. I haven’t fully explored the world of BuJo because I’m worried I’d just screw up, but… this post kinda makes me want to go for it again. Do you use BuJo style for planning for your blog, too? :)

Hi! Thank you for these great tips! I’m interested in buying the notebook, but I’m just wondering if you secured rights to use the Bullet Journal registered trademark? I’m asking because you didn’t mention it here. Thanks again!

Hi D! No, I didn’t because I just made notebooks with dotted lines. But I do suggest you use it as a BuJo like I do! :)

Hi Saab! 💕 Just curious since you probably have loads of meetings, how do you include meeting notes in your bullet journal or do you do those on your computer na lang? :)

Hi Kim! I put a header of what the meeting is about (ex. Maxx Bridal Shower) and just put dashes for each note underneath. Later on I’ll refer to it to see which notes I need to convert to tasks :)
