It’s been such a crazy week, I’ve hardly been at home and my laptop’s battery has died on me. It doesn’t want to work unless it’s plugged in huhuhu. At least I’ve got a reason to get a new one! Hehehe. Soon! Anyway, here’s a very delayed photo diary of our 3rd day in Japan also known as our day in Osaka which is about an hour and a half away via train. We rode our hotel’s free shuttle to Kyoto Station and began our adventure!
The express pass that lets you totally surpass everybody else in line costs 1,500 yen more than the 1 day ticket and we thought it was totally worth it but all express passes were unfortunately sold out. On a Thursday, too. I guess we should have come really early!
We were told that if we didn’t want to line up to get into Harry Potter World, we could get a ticket (no extra cost) indicating our proper time slot. So we set off to find this magical ticketing booth but it was a little harder to figure out than we thought.
It took us a while because it was a little bit off from where it said it would be on the map. Haha. It was cool, we got a ticket and we had about 30 minutes to kill before our turn so we grabbed some pizza!
AND THEN WE HEADED TO THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER AND WE TOTALLY SKIPPED THE LINE BECAUSE OF THAT TICKET OMG I WAS SO EXCITED!! WHEN WE ENTERED IT WAS JUST A WHOLE PATHWAY SURROUNDED BY BEAUTIFUL TALL PINE TREES AND THE THEME SONG STARTED PLAYING OMG GOOSEBUMPS ALL OVER. AND THEN WE SAW THIS!!!
The entrance to Hogsmeade!!!
Okay, so there are only 2 rides in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, i did my research and most people recommended to skip the ride Flight of The Hippogriff. It’s really more for kids, like a caterpillar at our local grade school fairs.
Beside Hogwarts is the Black Lake which can only be found in The WWOHP Osaka. God knows why I didn’t take photos of it!!!
The ride you need to go on is Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey. We were warned that there was a 220-minute wait but we didn’t think twice. We were SO GAME. Also, it was no sweat because as I did my research, I knew it wouldn’t be a waste of time. Being in line for The Forbidden Journey ride meant getting to explore Hogwarts!
Unfortunately it was totally dark inside Hogwarts, too dark to take proper photos and I didn’t want to ruin the vibe with flash photography. You just need to know that the moving portraits by the Grand Staircase were SO believable! Of course they were speaking in Japanese and I couldn’t understand a thing but I didn’t care!
You’ll also see Professor Dumbledore’s office, The Defense Against The Dark Arts classroom, and so much more! And then you go into a room where there are free lockers for your things. Take the key with you and take your seat. The ride isn’t like a typical roller coaster. I can’t explain it and I couldn’t understand what the heck Japanese Hermione and Harry were saying but it was the best ride ever. My mouth was open the ENTIRE TIME I just kept saying WOWWWWWWWWW!!! Hahaha!! Won’t spoil it any further, you need to experience it for yourself if you’re a Harry Potter fan!
The ceiling reminded me of the Great Hall! TIME OF MY LYF~
I looked like I was in a fat suit before removing most of my layers so I could take these photos and pretend I wasn’t freezing and my nose wasn’t falling off my face! If you’re just getting butterbeer and not food, go to Hog’s Head instead of The Three Broomsticks because there is absolutely nobody in Hog’s Head. Plus there’s an actual Hog’s Head that moves, it is SO creepy. Heehee. The butterbeer was WAY too sweet for my taste, but it’s okay at least we got to take home the mugs!
Unfortunately, because it was winter, USJ closed at 6PM and we didn’t have much time left. Jim wanted to check out the Spiderman ride before the theme park closed. So we did and it was K lang. We’d done most of the other major rides at Universal Studios Singapore anyway so there was nothing else we HAD to see. I already got my marauder’s map and some chocolate frogs as pasalubong so we were good to go!
We left at 6pm and set off to eat at what we heard was THE BEST wagyu steak place according to our friends. Matsusaka Wagyutei is a small restaurant in Osaka and the steak was absolutely amazing. It’s located at 1-6-9 Shibata, Kita-ku, Osaka, Osaka Prefecture. Make sure to check it out!
It did NOT disappoint. Omg guys, did I have the best honeymoon or what?!?!?!?! I am still on a high! Hope you enjoyed that photo diary! I still have more photos to share from Japan, hope you’re not sick of it yet!
